Anyone had a tune affected by over-the-air-updates?

A local tuner stated that all the 4th gen Coyote tunes he has done were affected by the latest over the air update. Has anyone had issues with the ECM / tune being changed by Ford updates?

I believe the most recent OTA update was Powertrain Control Module related (PT-25.13.1), at least for mine.

I'm assuming that may be the cause this time around, versus other OTA updates. Curious to hear if anyone else was affected.

He said the update “reset the tune on all the S650’s he tuned”. Not sure what he meant by reset (back to factory settings??). It was a brief text because I am considering having him tune mine. Now I’m going to wait until Spring to see what’s up.

Very interesting. You wouldn't think they would be willing to do a strategy code ECU update remotely but I read that thread on the F150 site and it surely was happening. We will see if that goes on with ours.... Could make re-tuning an expensive proposition as many tuners will want to re-tuning fee for updating the strategy code.

BMWs have this. In the BMW app you need to uncheck the box allowing OTA updates and in the car settings. I bet Ford does the same

I just re flashed my tune incase the update put it back to stock

Never had an issue on my cars. GT Premium and a DH Handling pack car both equipped with Whipple's which I've had for quite sometime now.

My understanding is that the OTA updates only affect user preferences and doesn't flash the PCM or TCM.

That would be my question as well. My car has had scheduled updates, but I have no clue what they are or if they've affected anything. Would Ford do updates that improved performance?

That was my understanding as well and I struggle to believe Ford would trust a strategy code update via wireless you know? The F150 thread says they did... but I'd like to see 1 or two more sample points before I draw a conclusion.

Yes the OTA updates if you leave them enabled, can overwrite your tune. You will need to disable OTA updates in the radio and then reflash your tune. Then you're good.

The latest OTA PCM update won't complete on my whippled car. Says not complete then "engine diagnostics" in orange on the update status page.
