A individual who doesn't own a Ford vehicle is in no position to ask Ford to extend their warranty. I am in that position therefore I will DEMAND that they extend it. Sure, we are talking semantics here, but there reply will provide my stance moving forward on any FOMOCO product. It's called gratis and companies who want to maintain a good relationship with their consumers will act accordingly.
I see your desire for the extension of warranty, but on what grounds? You were aware of the warranty when you purchased the car, you can always get an extended warranty on your dime.

I had pretty constant communications errors on my DH for months until they found it was the EBCM and good since then. Yes, it sucked after dropping so much cash and the car made rounds in service so soon.

Problem was fixed and corrected, warranty worked as it was designed.

Let's just say not everybody shares your view or approach! Don't be surprised if your DEMAND is met with two extended fingers :giggle:

Best of luck - you will need it

I can't say that I have ever heard of bad gaskets/seals being an issue, but there is always that one that gets out the door and unfortunately it seems to have ended up in your car.

It has not shown up as a design defect, or an assemble defect (BCM recall anyone?)

Modern QA finds a lot of issues before they go out the door, but unfortunately statistically something will get past QA and out the door.

A crank rear main and an oil pan gasket are pretty much apples and oranges, unless it is at the mating surfaces. The chances of a gasket and seal going bad at the same time are about the same as you hitting the lottery unless as I said above it was an assembly issue. If it was the rear main seal the retainer plate the seal sits in it comes off without having to wrestle with the pan.

I'd be asking the service dept if they have verified the PCV system is working properly
Agreed.... sounds like a crank case pressure problem.

agree with this although I am a hot head myself. I had an issue with my car before I even took delivery. the general manager was a dick. I was dealing with two sales managers under him and tore off on them after one of the replies he gave (them to deliver to) me. when I calmed down and we got to talking, I got a lot further when I played the sympathy card. this was an ordered car so I already had a relationship with one of the sales managers which was thrown out the window as soon as I copped an attitude.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site, however, I want to let you know of a recent experience. I took delivery in 08/25 of a factory ordered GT. In mid-October I noticed smoke emanating from the hood. I took the vehicle in for service and they needed to replace the crankshaft main seal. After a test drive the service department called and said the oil pan gasket was also leaking. The car has been in the shop since October 29th and now an oil pan gasket is on order. This is unacceptable for a new vehicle (less than 3k miles) and FOMOCO wonders why S650 sales are stagnant. Be aware if you are considering an S650.
That sucks man you probably got the bad batch of the 5.0 coyote cause I heard from my friend months ago that they had a bad batch of 5.0 coyote engines that time at the Flat Rock Powerplant.

Hello all, the GT was returned on 11/14 and all appears to be fine (currently). No leaks on the floor and no burning odor. I confirmed with the Tech that he replaced the rear main, took it for a drive, put it on the rack and noticed the oil pan gasket was weepy too. That said, I am happy he performed some due diligence even though it was in the shop over two weeks. I did manage to get some $ knocked off an extended warranty after speaking to Ford Customer Service.

So I absolutely love my 2025 GT Performance Pack - however the repairs it's needed have been laughable:

1) Center Console Replaced within a week under warranty (leather/vinyl peeling off)
2)Driver's Rear Window ordered as warranty replacement (seal / window install defective due to factory installation error)
3)Paint on bumper has an actual drip under the clear coat - still waiting for decision from Ford
4)When replacing the plastic door sills with illuminated Premium versions - my son and I noticed that on one of the door sills, the blue plastic underneath the sill on top of the adhesive was never removed during install - so it wasn't even attached with any adhesive... clearly a labor issue must have been built on a Friday.
5) Monday, when the rear window is being repaired, the Transmission / Clutch is being evaluated for a "chattering" when modulating the clutch while pressing the accelerator. Didn't do it for the first 600 miles, now easily reproducible.

I think half the car's problems are the workers at the factory installing things incorrectly, not giving a damn.

Sad, but I still love the car. Just frustrated at my first Ford vehicle experience in 53 years lol.

Still... here's a happy pic from my weekend wash today so obviously I love her.

Those highly skilled, over-paid, UAW goons at work for ya.........

I've been in their assembly plants but had hoped things have changed by now. Apparently not.

Keep on them. I've owned three Toyotas and a Honda and none have ever had a warranty issue. Not one. They don't build Mustangs either.

Ford’s quality control definitely needs a complete overhaul. I’m lucky, i didn’t have any real problems except some visual stuff like panel a gap on rear bumper cover, and a very large panel gap between the headlight and the front bumper cover (I’m talking over 1/2”). I’ve seen others with exact same issues though, so I know I’m not special in that sense.

@Frogdog1 and @TheACN, you are absolutely correct. There's really no excuse other than a complete lack of caring and final assembly QA. Obviously, bad parts from a 3rd party supplier is a different issue, but all these items are correctable if the suits and the folks on the line would address them.

Typically, Ford's Tier 1 suppliers, supply measurably better parts (thru SPC and other means), than Ford makes. Ford is brutal to be a supplier for.....I used to be president of one of their main suppliers.

As far as a "complete overhaul", as @TheACN suggests, they would tell you they "continuously work on that". Ford has a good quality system. That only leaves Ford people that I could once upon a time prove didn't follow their own system but I had to follow their system to be a supplier. I have a personal letter of commendation from Ford for doing just that and more.

Anyone over 40 y.o. working for Ford is mainly concerned about their retirement....with exceptions. No different at GM. They treat their people the same way they treat suppliers. Having said that, I've had four Mustangs with good luck. On any car forum, one is going to hear all the bad and little of the good.

Of all the new cars I've had the most serious fault was clutch judder on a new Honda Prelude, a tail light full of water on a GT86, and a slight oil leak from a DSG cover on a Cupra Ateca.
So, Jap - 2 euro - 1. US - none. So far🤞

People put foreign cars on a pedestal like they have zero issues. They have plenty of problems of their own.

No mass produced car can have every car off the line 100% perfect....jeez, look at how many parts are in a car and they all have to go together perfectly....every single time.

FWIW, I drove my 06 Mustang GT for 17 years without one single issue! OK....ONCE I had to replace the alternator...that's it!
