what?!? You come to a thread about failing sales numbers and want everyone to be all excited? This is the worst in all of history. The heck is wrong with you? Get real man.

gotta call it like it is, no matter how much it hurts.

A discussion forum is for … *gasp!* … discussion. I know right?

it’s not the cheerleading or put your head in the ground forum.

it’s talking mustang, ups, downs, and everywhere in between.

man’s who the heck cares about a g80 m?

I have a new z4 b58 m40i, but I’m not posting about it to justify anything. It’s a great car by the way. Researched it quite a bit before buying (mostly for the girl).

As for me, I’ve owned three mustangs and one of them was my first car, which wasn’t a good car btw.

I’ve lived through times the Mustang was stellar snd times the mustang was a downer. There are reasons why each is the case and it all comes down to vision and investment.

like it or not, the current generation is a dud. The sales prove it. It’s a very old platform that is doing the bare minimum to get by during what started as an unsure time period. So while I can see why Ford did it, it’s also a philosophy that fails every time. Minimal investment equals minimal return. When Ford gets aggressive and acts like a startup with a chip in its shoulder, it wins.

But it all depends on whose hands are on the steering wheel and running the ship. You put the wrong people there and you get trouble.

As a massive mustang fan, I’m not ok with mediocrity or lame decisions.

you might be ok with an suv called “mustang,” a door factory called “mustang,” etc. but a great many, if not most are not. You might be ok with paying 70k for an old, heavy, inefficient platform thst struggles to make use of some of the best engines around. Many of us aren’t. Sure, some will buy in even now because it’s a mustang after all. But they’d be much better served by a platform befitting the iconic status of the car and getting much more value for their hard earned dollars.

me personally, I’m a man of principle. Maybe you’re not. But I’m careful where I invest, how I spend, and what equity I’m receiving in return. I won’t spend new car money on an old car with an extra throttle body and new lights.

you might soil yourself over someone expressing legit criticism out of desire to be heard and effect any slight remote possibility of change. But defending mediocrity or attacking someone calling it out helps nothing. It only encourages more mediocrity. Good luck with that.

if the current trend continues, the Mustang itself (the real one. Not the rebadged SUVs, etc) is in danger. Some of us aren’t not ok with that. So we do what little we can do and post our little words in mustang forums on topics such as “how to save the mustang.”

so you can cry yourself a river that someone isn’t blindly shouting the the praises of ford diluting the mustang name and investing in everything BUT the mustang. But others of us actually care about the car. The frustrating part is it’s not some mystery nor is rocket science required to right the ship. Just need some common sense back in the boardroom.
You just rant interspersed with insults - that is not a discussion

who, Superman? Thor?

anyway, get back to the basement, where it’s apparently a safe space to protect yourself from reading the opinions of those who dare advocate for a truly great Mustang on a mustang forum of all places.
I don't live in a basement or need a 'safe space' But I know why you keep using the insult.

Your threats and insults don't make you a big man or clever - just the opposite

when all you do is whine about someone else’s opinion, it’s obvious that you just can’t deal hence the safe space references

All you do is post doom and gloom snd then get upset when someone has enthusiasm for the future of the mustang along with ideas on how that future could be great.

calm down, enjoy some tea and crumpets, and enjoy the diversity of opinions.
Don’t attack people and then cry when they call you out.

“safe space” isn’t an insult. It’s where people go when they can’t handle reality. So… you know,..

Then stick to your old car and stop moaning about Mustangs on a Mustang forum. Unless you can come up with something new don't waste server space.
And yet some of you continue to respond to him. I ignored him and @robvas some time ago. But I still enjoy your responses to posts I can longer see. :giggle: :like:

Why someone would insist on so many negative comments about mustangs on a mustang forum is beyond me. Also, blindly praising other brands in comparison is just hilarious. Are you trolling us?

It appears by your comments and lack of knowledge that you havent owned neither an g8x M or an S650. What the hell are you doing here?

Fyi, I have owned a g80 M3 and could post a full page of criticisms, reasons for selling and prefering the Dark Horse over it but none of these considerations are relevant to this thread.

In the end, I recommend you to go to a dealer, buy whatever you prefer and get in that brand forum with a more documented and honest opinion.

Your current opinion is not adding much value here.

Ah, there it is. I'm sure there are many bmw forums for you.

Also, you could have gotten an s650 that goes faster and is less expensive.

More "bang for the buck" as you say lol

Btw, bmw sold 2,000 z4 cars in all of 2024 in North America. Just no "bang for the buck" there and the sales numbers prove I'm right 😂 That's how it works you say.

One of the more brainless posts I’ve read.
“Gasp! Somebody has another car non-ford! All credibility must vanish!”

s650 wasn’t quite out yet and no way I was buying an s550 at the time - with s650 right around the corner (not to mention it took a couple years to financially recover after COVID) And she wanted this car pretty bad.

but hey why don’t you ask every member of this site with a non-ford in their lineup to go to respective forums so you can stink up this one?

two fords, a Hyundai, a bmw, and a motorcycle. Guess I’m out. Lol

Go grab a coffee, wake up from that bad dream, and welcome back.

LOL. OK I get that. But I wasn’t calling him Joe Biden. Wasn’t even in my mind.

living in your rekaruves basement was a common “out” on forums for a long time. I guess the political world co-opted that.

but not what I was referencing. Still doesn’t explain why he brings heroes into it. Just another strange take

This isn't a car forum or a Ford forum, it's an s650 forum. All you do is whine about s650s on here, and you have no interest in s650s, so why be on an s650 forum. Speaking of "brainless".

I've been away from forums for a while, good to see some things never change 😆

I just picked up a DH, and absolutely love it. This will be the 7th mustang between me and my wife. I've bounced between a lot of cars over the years: foxbody, e46 m3, terminator, jeep srt, '14 gt, c6 z06, f80 m3, '24 DH.

Yes, the new BMW m2,3,4 are faster. Yes, the interior of the new bmw m cars are nicer. I could go on, but I don't care. The new mustang checks all the right boxes for me

  • naturally aspirated v8
  • manual transmission
  • enough tech to be relevant

What are the other cars that check those boxes?

  • Dodge: big no and a huge laugh here. go check out the new charger...electric and base STARTS at $60k
  • Chevy: nope. C8 base STARTS at $70k and no manual trans
  • BMW: nope.
  • etc...etc..etc..

Nothing else on the market delivers what ford does with the mustang. Is it a flop due to sales numbers? If that is your only metric, then, sure I can see the point. Is it a flop for other reasons? that's up to you.

I couldn't see spending the $$$$$$$$$ in the used market when I can get a brand now, fresh unit off the showroom floor. Gt350s, with the updated engines (rings and blocks, 2019+) are $60k+ unless they have higher miles, gt500s are $80k+ and have a DCT, older gt500s (2013-2014) are$60k, and on and on (don't get me started on the price for a nice terminator).

Enjoy chasing what is 'best,' as there will always be something faster with the latest 'have to have' gadgets. I'm going to enjoy a drive in the car that makes me happy.

I’d encourage you to be careful here.

You‘ll never get anywhere making sense like that.
