18% service life of motor oil-only with 2036 mi (3277km) (One year)

The Ford App show me 18% life oil, only these Km/Miles done. The car was delivered just 1 year, by june 20. I suppose this is programing for go to dealer revision every year but the car really has more oil? Could I wait more time to go to revision o is recomended change oil?

So sitting for a year it will say the oil is bad even though it's not oil does not go bad just sitting in an engine

But while you are in Warranty you should change it when It says to avoid any issues they want to blame on it just in case anything were to happen.

But after warranty is up do it only based on mileage I do mine every 5000 you can decide what's best for you.

You do know the 18% is not your oil level right? Oil life is about the life of the oil, not how much oil you have in the pan.

I have the same problem and even though I only have 1800 miles on the DH and I had checked the oil and it is right on full and the oil ain’t dirty at all! And the warning says 5% remaining! I think they go by how many days or “time related”!

I always change annually no matter what the computer says because of how humid it is in the US South. Or at 5,000 miles full synthetic (unlike synthetic blend most come with)

Oil monitor system is based on 3 factors: Miles driven, Time and How the car car is driven. So theoretically, if you occasionally drive your DH to work, but take it to the track 2-3 times a month or drive "aggressively" then the oil life remaining percentage will be reduced significantly. Conversely, if you only drive a couple of times a week on sunny days to keep the battery charged and only put 1,000 miles on the odometer in a year the system will show the oil life remaining at a much lower percentage than a year ago when it was changed.
Once system says oil change "REQUIRED" (at 5% typically)not oil change "SOON" then it is recommended to change it.
In the latter situation of low mileage, I would just reset the system until the next year when the odometer reaches 2,000. But in the "Tracked" scenario I would definitely change it at the recommended time.

A wise man once told me years ago that oil is cheap insurance, I know the price is much higher today but so is the cost of an engine. I change min once a year on 4 vehicles that get driven 1-3k per year, other wise at 5k or in the case of the Hybrid Maverick every 7.5k even if the oil has "life"

If it's the original oil that came in the car, get it changed. Otherwise, if you're only putting 2,000 miles on the car per year, you're wasting money changing it every year 'just because'.

Reset the oil life meter and change it next year.

With the current oil monitor, you could change your oil today and park it for a year... it will tell you to change the oil when starting it up a year later.

Oil viscosity is affected over time by moisture and oxidation even just sitting in the motor. The oil life monitor counts down to zero life over a year's time regardless if other wear factors aren't met.

Personal recommendation, if you're in warranty, follow the interval. Once you're outside warranty and it's hardly driven, data suggests a good synthetic can go 2 years.

Change the oil every year if you do low miles. If the car is a daily driver then change according to the owner's manual. If you can afford a $60K-$80K you can afford an oil change.
A friend of mine just looked at a 2019 BULLITT with 5200 miles on it. The owner was proud to say that it had no mods and still had the original oil in the crankcase! My friend is still looking for a car....

Actually, it does deteriorate"just sitting in the engine". Combustion contaminants combine with condensation to form acids in the oil. Especially if the mileage is low and the car does a lot of cold starts.
This is why it's a good idea to change oil before storage

a car sitting for a year and with 2000 miles on the oil is not bad its fine
a new car can benefit from a early break in oil change we all know this

but the oil is not bad not even close
