I'm old, this is my first V8 automatic. GT while driving any mode, floor it and immediately let off the gas. The car revs up, does not take off, and then settles into gear. All takes place in about 1 second, it's like the ability to rev the engine without it taking off. Similar to a manual when pressing the clutch to rev the engine. In the 6G there was similar post and said bad torque converter. Been like this since day one 5k mile now.

Is this normal for the A10 and is it safe?? It feels like it is slipping, even WOT there is a lag of 500ms before it takes off.

I know the throttle by wire BS and pedal lag, hoping a tune will help that situation.

I could be wrong and maybe your transmission is slipping but I believe the car is designed to enter an unseen high performance mode when you perform the actions you described.

Flooring it and immediately letting off the gas should switch the car to a very aggressive shifting strategy and first thing it does is engage the lowest possible gear (raising RPMs) then it should be ready for you to get on it.

Flooring it and holding it will have varying lag times depending on modes.

It is called Fuzzy Logic. If you've never drive an automatic with Fuzzy Logic, it takes it (and you) a bit of time to adjust.

Are you turning off traction control?

If you're flooring it with traction control on nanny mode is going to kick in immediately and cut your power.

Only thing I notice is when I first take off and give it gas from a stop. There is a higher rev with little speed, then once it shifts It's fine.
Aside from that shifts are very smooth, and plenty of torque.

I'm only at 300 miles and its still learning, so I'll chalk it up to that for the moment.

I don't expect instant response though it just seems odd for a performance car to lag on the throttle. Today cruising 30 mph, mash it , revs up and over a 1 second delay before it took off. I am going to clear the adaptive tables and then turn them off to see if it has something to do with the learning.

Same, I know the power band is high, I just expect/need more torque or settle for a better throttle response from a tune.

I have tried turning both off, you definitely get more hop, this just feels different, just makes the car feel heavy and bogged.

I have had it over a year, only 5K miles. I love the car I just need better throttle response. I am hoping once tunable I can get that. I do not track the car, a supercharger for me would be overkill as I have most of my fun in the 0-70 range

Hold on… you a flooring it WOT and then letting off right after before running out a gear or 2?

if I described correctly than you’re just confusing your trans controller tcm

A torque convertor unlocks with a rapid increase in throttle to maximise torque multiplication and transfer. That is how they work!
