Sorry for reminding you the ZR1 is faster, everywhere. Now people are leg humping modified GTD times (or they don't realize it's not a production car) and trying to compare them to stock ZR1 times.

When someone says the GTD is faster in the turns or would be faster than the ZR1 if it had more power, is it wrong to point out that it's not true?

If you're a 10 and there's an 11, you're still a 10.

Funny how people can say YEA IT BEAT THE PORSCHE and then get so butt hurt when another car beats the GTD.
There's a very good chance this is a production car. Either as a new variant of the GTD, or as upgrades existing GTD owners will be able to have installed. It also is faster than the zr1 if that lap time is accurate.

From now on, I will only say positive things about the GTD, even if the competition is better. Don't want to upset @DeluxeStang
It's not that man. It's just, there are dozens, if not hundreds of groups and sites I can think of that don't interest me. So I don't go on them. It's just weird to spend all this time writing on a site centered around a product you seem hypercritical of.

I'm not a fan of cyber trucks, but I don't create an account on cyber truck forums and post all the time about how I don't like cyber trucks.

I see where you’re coming from, but I think it’s also okay to point out when Ford fucks up or does something stupid or whatever. It’s also okay to express controversial opinions. Additionally, I think people are putting WAY too much faith in the accuracy of this lap time.

FWIW, I think the GTD is an awesome car, but it’s ludicrously overpriced, IMO. The performance is great, but let’s be real—the current GTD is slower than the ZR1 in every comparison test I’ve seen, AND it’s significantly more expensive, AND you have to get on your knees and beg Ford for the privilege of paying them $400,000 for a car that shares a large chunk of the interior with a $32,000 EcoBoost. I personally think it’s laughable, but it doesn’t matter to me or Ford because I’m not in the market for one and they’re still likely going to sell every one they make. I do wonder how many are speculators just waiting to see if they can flip it for big money like the GT though, and I don’t think that’s going to be the case for this car. The GT had a lot more going for it IMO.

Are we back at this? Too funny! I thought we all agreed that Mustangs are THE iconic brand and newer Corvettes are just alien childrens' transformer clones. I don't care how fast a ZR1 goes, to me it still looks line a piece of asymetric junk put together by someone with a defined personality disorder and applauded by the delusional lunatic fringe.

I can't like both of them?

And lots of other cars, too? I just like cars. I'd even love to have a 1969 Dodge Coronet RT with a 572 cubic inch engine with a 10/71 blower sticking out from a black hood. And that is neither a Ford nor a Chevy.

Or a 1969 Camaro with a transplanted Gen 4 Coyote and A10 with twin turbos!

I like to disassemble things.
I don't know if a manufacturer can ask to have a time held until a certain date for a controlled release, or there's lag for a time to be posted, or it wasn't officially timed for some reason but it isn't up on the track's own site listing. As of March 28th, 2026...

The GTD time was unofficial apparently, so it won't be shown there.
Interesting that many of the Porsches have Manthey kits. Not really series production cars.

Being as specific as you can, who verified or made the statement that the track wasn't timing the runs?

Regarding the engine and whether or not it had a Whipple on it (and I think most are fairly certain it did):
Best shot I could get of the blue car, through the vent, and focusing portions of the blower that resides underneath, I pointed arrows at two things. First is the unique cooling hose arrangement which is entirely different than what comes on the factory Eaton blower. There is a plate where two hoses are attached. Second, a small hump in the top casting on the front face to allow for the bypass valve arm to articulate.

And here's a Whipple unit atop an S650 Coyote engine. Arrows point to the same respective locations...

Yup, definitely a Whipple on there and no doubt the black car did too.

It was said on the vid I posted, but the vid seems to have disappeared.
There are others referring to "unofficial" timing.
It also does not show on eiphany's posted list.
If it was genuine something official will appear.
The other thing with 'Ring times, manufacturers lie, lie again, and when they've finished lying their lips stop moving.

I'm not being a prick, just being objective. We still don't know if the time is being held and was officially timed, if there is lag time (paperwork, verification process, blah, blah), or there was another issue.

If it was genuine something official will appear.
Now that, I agree with. At some point it will become crystal clear that there either was or was not an official run. Regardless, Ford/Multimatic know how capable this "altered" GTD is in terms of times. Given Farley's comment regarding "Game on" awhile back along with the fact that Ford is back there again, I have little doubt that a faster time (than 6:52) will be reported at some point in the not too distant future. And that it will be official.
