I have my car for 3 quarters of year and drove 12k km and just today I discovered strange things. I know most of you like the rumbling and the louder the better through any spectrum up to your liking. However we all know stock AE produces fake sounds through speakers. Now…
I got used to drive in sport mode in the beginning, later few k’s km in track mode few k’s in normal AE mode and today I got finally good comparison of quiet. My point is, in quiet mode I can drive in traffic within a city or outside and press the accelerator without me feeling like I want to race everyone. I have noticed noticeable difference of other drivers reacting to my acceleration when in quiet mode. Other most important thing is… I can actually hear the engine the way it is made, in its nature and fully for first time today. It is night and day compared to sport or track or normal. The fake sounds through speaker system made me always feel like I do something wrong, or being detached from the reality. In this quiet mode I can actually recognize the very details of engine rpms and the feeling of the engine it self as well as the 10r80 transmission actions during gear changes and all the details driver is unable to recognize during the high set volumes from other modes. That makes me think, how did I judged and behaved to the engine before in those modes vs quiet mode now, is night and day. Does anybody understand my point? I feel like to deactivate the fake noises , since in warranty I am considering to pull the fuse of audio system to try what the AE actually do in regards of audio-hearing-ability for the driver…
