Shelby American had nothing to do with the Ford carsYep. This is why I've said Ford's smart for ditching Shelby for Multimatic. Your options are a company that does the most basic half-assed shit, or the world leaders for the most innovative and badass performance cars. Ford made the right call.
The GTD looks like an S650 with allergic reaction. Which one was available first for the public to buy?The GTD was probably in development before any S650 Shelby American variant. Plus it looks better than any product those guys have put out. The front of the cars looking nothing alike.
Exactly, yet another reason why Ford ditching the Shelby branding is no big deal imo. All the best Shelby models were never Shelby to begin with. Things like the gt 500 or 350 had nothing to do with shelby beyond the branding.Shelby American had nothing to do with the Ford cars
Not sure that many (or any) will see the track. What are they doing to cool off an 830 horsepower engine when running on the track?
Actually look at the specs. This is actually a track car. If you’re paying this kind of money for things like a roll bar and track brakes I’d bet it will be tracked. Not sure that many (or any) will see the track.
Has anyone in the last decades ever heard anything regarding viable and impressive track times by Shelby America or their cars? I haven’t and I assume it’s 90% show and marketing. If I want a serious track car I would go somewhere else. If I wanted a heritage name and the illusion of a capable track car I would go to them…Actually look at the specs. Well then I guess you’ve never met a GTD, Porsche GT2/3, or ZR1 owner. Or anyone that tracks their $200k+ toy. For these folks money is not an impediment. They’ve got the bucks and I’m sure there are enough of them to keep Shelby in business. It’s a garage/museum piece. Can’t imagine anyone spending this kind of money on a Mustang with a roll bar and track brakes to take it to the track. There are so many better options for track toys at - and less than - this price point.
