I have a Battery Tender Brand 3 AMP. I wired mine like MCS did in his picture above. Positive on fuse box terminal, negative on the shock tower post. So far, my tender shows all green and O.K. I guess I'll find out in April 2025 if everything worked.

Car still goes into low power mode regardless if it’s on the tender or not. I also use the battery tender plus and it shows solid green.

From what I’ve read on the forums is after 10 days of sitting the cars goes to sleep regardless of the charge of the battery

this may sound like a stupid question but I just received my ctek free and I don't want to mess it up. Can the negative be attached to any stud on the strut tower or only the one that goes into the battery?

Attach negative clamp to this stud in the photo. This is from the owners manual

is there a way to view the battery status other than its voltage? the ctek cs free drains itself in about 20 minutes even though the mechanic said the battery is healthy

How do you mean? You can buy a battery tester that checks the health of the battery like a mechanic would use. Like this one>https://www.amazon.com/ANCEL-BA101-Professional-Automotive-Motorcycle/dp/B01M0ARG3X
Other than voltage i dont know if you view other battery stats with the cars screen. Maybe an OBD device can do what you want, the one above should be fine depending.

So here's the story. My auto start/stop stopped working and I know it's because the battery is considered too low by the BMS, problem is I don't drive my car enough hence the trickle charger.

But said trickle charger, which is the ctek cs free, reads the battery as deep discharged and drains itself operating in a high-power bulk charge mode which supports what the obd scanner shows.

But the mechanic says the battery is healthy and holds the charge... so the question is, am I doing something wrong with the ctek? unlikely. Or is the mechanic useless? more likely. Maybe I should just replace the battery.

Hmm,so the auto start/stop is currently not functioning. And the mechanic and your testing shows that the feature is not working because the battery is not holding a charge? If that is the case is the battery under warranty? If so get them to replace it and then go from there. If the problem continues after new battery there is probably something else wrong. I see your car is 2024 so the battery should be covered still. Is the car throwing up any codes? Maybe the ctek is not functioning properly. Try a different charger too.

the auto start/stop has worked before, I suspect the previous owner neglected the battery and it probably has reduced capacity. maybe resetting the BMS will help, I'll wait until I get the opportunity to go for a long drive and see what happens
