I got an software update notice 8/10/25 or the 9th on my FordPass app. Got the notification on my phone. It popped up then disappeared or I clicked it can't remember which, but now there is no notice or anything about the update in my car or fordpass app after I saw it? Anyone else have this happen and did it just fix itself after a while?

Thank you for reading

I would guess that my 2025 GT updated last night. MyColors changed to the default. Something was different in the sequence of center screen display, but it was there and gone so quickly that I do t know what it was.

Too bad our displays don’t show the version of our software. My Subaru Outback shows the software version. Duh!

I haven’t been able to get software updates for months. In the car, it just says checking for updates, may take a few minutes, but the circle never stops spinning. On Fordpass, I can’t turn on the software update button. Was on the phone with Ford help for over an hour, and they had no clue. Tried a bunch of stuff, nothing worked. I’d already done everything they told me to do, but he wanted me to try it three or four more times. They told me to take it to the dealership. I don’t have faith in the dealership. Last time I went for an oil change, the guy said they had me down for tire rotation. Can’t rotate the tires on 24 Mustang, so he either thought I was stupidly or he had no clue what he was doing except standing in the ford service bay. Oh, the infotainment center goes nuts all the time going from the ford screen, back to android auto, back to ford, need usb connection, but it’s connected by usb to try to sole this problem. Sorry this is so long. I’m at the end of my rope!

Since you said this I presume your car must have staggered wheels with larger tires in rear vs front. My Mustang has same size front and rear tires and get rotated as needed.

Service at my dealer this week and I had scheduled oil/filter change and tire rotation. First thing my service advisor did upon my arrival was check my rear and front tire sizes to confirm my rotation.

Yeah, I’m losing my faith in dealer service. My wife’s Lincoln just had an oil change and was given back to us a full qt. Low.

Some updates can only be done at the dealer even if they are over-the-air.

In your case there might be some software hiccup preventing the update. Make sure your battery is on a trickle charger/battery tender. A car also won’t take an update if the battery is below 80% charge, which can happen surprisingly often in modern cars.

Also try the infotainment reset procedure. The procedure is convoluted because you have to press the stereo power button and the forward seek button simultaneously for 10 seconds. The fwd seek button is digital, So I guess you have to press the console power button and the physical steering wheel fwd seek button.

There is also this procedure to also try. (See below) The dash pictured below is different, but in my 2025 manual, the procedure doesn’t make sense, as it claims the stereo power button is on the steering wheel.

This is a known issue across all Ford vehicles after a recent GWM software update. To fix this, you need to disconnect the negative battery cable from the 12v battery for 20 minutes. Once you reconnect the battery and check for updates again, it will make it past the spinning pinwheel on that screen.

I did try the rest four times. I keep getting a message the battery is low, take a long drive. Then I get a message that the car is now unblocked. Really don’t understand that one. I had a 2015 that I had to keep on a trickle charger even though it was a new battery. If I didn’t, the car wouldn’t start after one night. That was fun. Nobody found anything pulling on the battery.

Thank you. That’s one thing I have not tried.
