You know exactly the point I am making, but instead you intentionally choose to get hung up by me stating "its a computer issue" with a retort that essentially boils down to "nuh uh, its actually a Ford QA issue with shitty build quality that can lead to computer issues, not an issue with the computer itself".

There are enough glitches with the current sync 4 that I cannot see these getting better down the line. And whats to stop Ford from stopping support alltogether? Its already a problem elsewhere.

My point is that I have zero faith in the electronics within these cars if Ford cannot even seal a panel from leaking water in. Its 2025....
So why crying about selling the car and getting a car without computers if its not about the computers but about the quality?

Buying a car without a computer can give you quality issues as well since this is a leak issue and not a computer issue.

A water leak from the roof to your seat in your classic car is a seat issue? Your theory is broken.

Don't get the car wet is the most stupid advice ever. How the hell can a car owner prevent the car from not getting wet?

This advice is only possible for people who buy cars and store them in a garage, not for people who bought this car to drive it.

This is a car ladies and gentleman, not a TV.

Cars drive outside on public roads. Cars get parked outside at the grocerie store, work parking place or other places where there are no garages. And there is also something called weather we can't control. And sometimes car owners also wash their car.

How in the hell can somebody say "don't get your car wet"

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol... Thinking of your post the other day... when my car got rained on for the second time in 2 years! 🤣

Sure it does. If water lands on the BCM, it could cause a rash of issues. Ford QC is a mess, and I wouldn't be surprised if other issues present themselves in 10 years.

On a 25 year old SAAB or Porsche or something, not that huge of an issue. I've individually soldered cracked silver solder spots on a board. On a modern car, nah man.

I simply have no faith in the electronics in these cars. As something I want to keep long term, its dead in the water to me.
You haven’t lived until you’ve peeled apart a piece of wire and used some plain ole elmers glue to redo do a trace on a motherboard.

… in the water. That’s a pun just for fun.

There is sun the whole day. But when I drive the car it starts raining. The sky has a sensor when I leave the house.

I am genuinely curious what the remedy would be on this recall. They just state ā€œawaiting partsā€. All this while my car rots on a dealership lot. Q1 2026 estimates are insane
I passed on 2 different ones that i was looking at out of state. They said we can sell it just cant deliver till Q1 and that can be end of March. No way was i going to be getting a 25 model in early 26 for the same price and paying on a car i dont have posession of.

One dealer even ran my credit we did all the numbers then he tells me about the recall. Man was i pissed.

They knew what they were doing, that is some scummy stuff right there. They should not even be showing those vehicles on recall.

SR5BART: I think you can still buy a 2025 as long as the build date is more recent than 7/25. But be firm on what you intend to buy, especially because your credit score can go down if it’s checked too many times.

still try for the most recent 25 build you can drive away with. 26 models lose some things like garage door opener, and lighted door sills.

Good luck!

I did pick up a 25 at a local dealer to me. took advantage of the 0% as well and they took like 4K off sticker. I am happy. Let the mods begin!!

If the dealers have to keep the cars on the lot, how do they prevent water from getting inside and damaging the interior by moisture?
I don't think they have a) enough inside space to store affected cars or b) would put covers on cars that are visible on their lot?
Or do they ship those cars somewhere else?

Damage caused by the leak will be fixed by Ford. Cars stay outside.

Moldy interior parts due to moisture can be difficult to spot and to replace depending on the location.
I guess mold inside is kind of the worst things you can have as a damage.

Water intrusion is an issue especially when these sub miniature connectors are involved because the slightest bit of corrosion drives the modules nuts, and when it comes to liability insurance appraisers like myself will do constructive total losses on water damaged vehicles ( sunroof drains blocked, sunroof left open) or cars that have been exposed to flood, especially salt water ones because we can't guarantee without thousands and thousands of dollars worth of parts and labor that 3 years from now when the car is in a accident that the air bags, seat belt tensioners, and such will work properly. In the last 10 years with the advent of ADAS components it is doubly so.

Then there is the mold issue.

I worked for a guy who's answer to every water claim that didn't touch the seat was to allow for a full detailing of the car, including pulling the carpets and "clean deodorize and sanitize" the wet parts.

Luckily I did not work for that appraisal company for long, but we had to total a Suburu after multiple attempts to get the mold out of the car didn't work and the owner hired her own consultant that took air and swab samples and proved that the car was full of mold and needed to be totaled.

It is easier for me to total the car and get as much money as I can back from the salvage auction than to end up up to my ear lobes in supplemental claims when it goes sideways

I ordered my 2025 Dark Horse with the handling package back in November 2024 and it took almost ten months for it to get delivered to the dealer. It finally arrived last week, but now, I can’t close the deal and take possession due to this recall. So, it is sitting at the dealer’s parking lot and apparently it will be sitting there for another six months. The dealer lets me come to visit it, touch it, caress it, sit in it, turn over the engine, rev it a little, but won’t let me drive it. It feels like having conjugal visits in a prison. This sux.
I am in the exact same boat. I guess just taking a bottle oF caulk wouldnt work. It took me 14.months to get her. So pissed. Luckily the dealership i'm working with actually put her in a garage for me, because I was about to call everyone in ford to have them pay for storage.

I even went on linkedin and started annoying people.
