On the gas fill problem, sometimes right after the station pump filters are replaced, flow can increase enough to over power the neck flow capacity. Also, if the pump aerates too much, it can produce the same effect. Not a big deal IMHO.

The feds are investigating the Honda V6 (again) about reported engine failures. Hyundai has a terrible reputation for engine failures, including one in the middle of test drive. The list is forever because everything has gotten complex and integrated. With so many parts being contracted to vendors, the least little problem can snowball. My 2019 sat in a parking lot in Flat Rock with thousands others for three months while they waited for the sub-contractor in Mexico to build the steering wheels. The plant was on strike for three weeks, but it took three months to clear the backlog, because the first wheels were used on the assembly line, and then a few at a time siphoned off for the parked cars.

this isn't a TSB, it's a full and proper recall. also, that sounds very illegal and foolish. hopefully those dealers get caught and fined for all previous violations. but here's one more thing, we at the dealer physically cannot mark a vehicle as sold if it has a stop sale recall on it (at least from what i've heard)

Hmm, so in other words, Ford’s mess up is better than GM’s mess up? One recall is for a high-performance car, the other recall is for a regular consumer vehicle…
It’s the company attitude that is concerning. Did you purchase their product that is having an issue but who do they blame?

If you look on the underside of a gas nozzle, you'll see a little button like device

That is a pressure sensor

That is what causes the pump handle to trip to the off position

Sometimes you just have to get the angle right so there is not a false reading

If you live where it snows, and have worked in a gas station, you have had to go out with a paper clip and get the snow and ice out of those pressure sensors or your pump or pumps don't work

I still find myself doing the quick estimate (should be around approx so many gallons), watch and listen.

just really dislike (almost used the h word) when fuel overflows onto the side.

With a 16 gal tank, when I fill up at halfway, I know about 8 gallons will go in. I’ll throw in 7 just to leave some room just in case there’s a faulty shut off. I almost always manually shut off the flow.

And I don’t feel as bad spending under $40…lol.

@roket .... the "trick" (I probably should have called it a work around) is perfectly legal and for many recalls (think Takata airbags that took several years to arrive) and a BCM that would likely not show the effects of corrosion for years - leaving vehicles in dealership lots would be ridiculous and the government knows that - hence the work around.

@Stanzi ..... I'll see if I can find it. The dealer had to declare something that released the car that seemed just common sense. The thread was a guy waiting to get his Mustang that had a TSB or recall issued but there was no immediate remedy. I think he his Mustang within a day. I wonder if you got a letter from a notary or lawyer absolving the dealer from responsibility regarding the issue if that would help?

Appreciate it if you find it I searched and couldn’t find anything. Shit I’d trailer it out and agree not to drive it at night until the fix. It’s a Third car anyway.
