New recall: water intrusion into BCM and connectors (25C43/25V546)

Description
On your vehicle, it is possible for water to enter the bcm, leading to corrosion in the bcm.

Safety Risk
When water intrusion into the bcm causes loss of communication with exterior lighting components, signal lamps that are required to be activated with low beams front and rear side marker lamps, taillamps, and license plate lamps are not activated. In addition, water intrusion into the bcm could cause the side marker and taillamp functions to flicker and not be steady burning.

Remedy
Parts are not available. Ford Motor Company is working to provide parts for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. The remedy is anticipated to be available 1ST quarter of 2026.

I saw this today, too. Job 1, 2024 MY here. Mine is a garage queen so not that worried about it, except when washing the car. Anyone know where the BCM is located? I still haven't acted on the first recall. Now I have 2.

Anyone know where the BCM is located?

The car has two Body Control Modules.

BCM-A: Interior cabin, passenger side, next to where right (US), left (AU/NZ/UK) foot would be placed.

BCM-B: Interior trunk, right side of vehicle, in the general area of the wheel well.

While the Powertrain Control Module is the main computer responsible for the drivetrain, BCM-A and BCM-B are the core computers for all other functions (lights, instruments, security, entertainment, environmental, safety, etc.)

The passenger side water leak fouling the BCM has been around for over 20 years going back to S197 at the least. Many videos of people pulling corroded modules out the car. Also many on the S197 forum had these complaints.

You’d think Ford would have noodled this issue through by now.

Best preventative measure is making sure there is no debris clogging the drains, but it can still happen. Even better is don’t get the car wet.

I’ve been on here ranting away about how I am not able to pick up my brand new 2025 Mustang GT (financed btw) due to a diode recall and maybe being able to have the issue addressed in Q4 of this year.

Well it got worse, since yesterday they issued a recall for the following:

FORD RECALL ID: FORD 25C43 INSPECTION FOR WATER INTRUSION INTO THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM AND CONNECTORS

With that remedy anticipated for Q1 of 2026 lmaooo like you can’t make this up. Now let’s say I decide to allow ford to get me into a similar vehicle well it gets worse

Oh did I mention it actually gets worse?? Well Just searching for new cars close to the specs I want…well all of those are part of the new recall lmao. So dealerships are unable to deliver/sell those vehicles. It is Like the ford gods don’t want me to own a mustang.

Don't get the car wet is the most stupid advice ever. How the hell can a car owner prevent the car from not getting wet?

This advice is only possible for people who buy cars and store them in a garage, not for people who bought this car to drive it.

This is a car ladies and gentleman, not a TV.

Cars drive outside on public roads. Cars get parked outside at the grocerie store, work parking place or other places where there are no garages. And there is also something called weather we can't control. And sometimes car owners also wash their car.

How in the hell can somebody say "don't get your car wet"

I am genuinely curious what the remedy would be on this recall. They just state “awaiting parts”. All this while my car rots on a dealership lot. Q1 2026 estimates are insane
