Ok, some weirdness from other pockets...

I've been trying to work on MAF tuning, where I've always historically began, and ran up against this MAF map for bank 1; bank 2 will likely need its own calibration:

Screenshot 2025-07-19 181854.jpg

SENT A/D is apparently a raw count corresponding to voltage. While researching how to account for this in an HPTuners histogram with LTFT + STFT as the parameter, a little bird told me that S650's are apparently exclusively Speed Density tuned? Anyone else hear this?

Also, there's 27 Speed Density tables apparently, one for every driving situation, and an executive manager in ECU that selects and blends them as needed. I've managed to record when they turn on in the logs, but know jack sh1t about how the executive chooses them.

Learnin', learnin'...
I need to figure this out more also. When I was working on ghost cam, I was trying to force a map through the engine -> airflow options. You can enable and disable map points. It all seems to be based on load and rpm. There’s some some tables in the variable camshaft tab there. I’m not sure if it just applies to cam timing though.

Here's part of the equation on raising rev limiter. There's usually a limiter in transmission tab too, but this is what I've found so far:

I had changed the cutoffs there but hadn’t edited the cutoff or park/neutral tables last time…. I can at least confirm Park/Neutral works. I set park to 4500, and neutral to 5500 and they both worked appropriately. Cutoff table is set to 8k across the board, but my wife blocked me in the garage so I won’t be able to test until tomorrow, but I believe we’ll be good.

I’m sure this is super elementary to others, but it’s been fun learning a bit.

All levels of expertise welcome. I'm an experienced tuner, but Coyote is new to me, and Gen IV Coyote is new to errbody...

Quick update: I've been going MAD trying to get to the bottom of the AD Counts issue. There's a sensor parameter I can add to graphs and histograms, but it won't populate:

S650 Mustang Calling all S650 Roll-Your-Own Tuners using MPVI/VCM Editor... 16408_Won't_Load

When I look for a channel to add tho:

Womp womp... Asking HPTuners folks for some help. Part of me wonders if there's a channel missing that I need... Updates when I've cracked the nut, but by all means, let know if I'm missing anything.

There's a bunch of tables that need to be adjusted to raise the shift points,

Thanks. I’ll keep prodding around and researching. Setting park/ neutral to 4500 resulted in me being capped at 4500 across each gear in manual. Setting that and the other table there to 8000 still had me at 7500max.

oss output shaft speed
i believe is what controls shift points

Here are the tables I changed to raise my shifts to 7650,

In the Engine Section, Raise Fuel Cut Off, I raised it to 8000

In the Transmission Section,

Under the General Limits:
Raise the RPM in the Normal RPM Limit tab
Raise the Detection RPM Max
Raise the RPM under the No Transfer Case tab

Under Transmission Protection, Raise the RPM limit Max, I set it to 7700

Probably not needed but I raised the Transfer Case Protection RPM's also.

In the Trans IPC section, These need increased to get 6th to shift past 6800;

Under the OSS Max vs Shift ID: Raise the 6th gear value, I set it to 6496.

Under the Element RPM Limit tab, I increased ALL values by 10%

Under the Shift Scheduling Section:
Raise the Base and Sport Upshift Maps.

You'll need to divide what ever RPM you want to shift at by the gear ratio to get the OSS value,

I just raised the 90-100% value to shift at 7650

And under the WOT Shift Map,

Set your WOT Shift RPM

I set all tables the same.

Keep an Eye on the tables for unplanned changes, I'm noticing Stuff gets changed sporadically when you scroll the mouse over these tables

This will still limit the 6th gear to 7480rpm right?
My 2018 Gen3 6 ->7 shifted at 7800,

I don't recall changing other tables but it's possible there's another limiter that needs adjusted.

Looking at the pinion and carrier limits, the carrier limits were higher on my S550 vs the S650

S550 ............... vs ................... S650
Carrier 1: 9200 ............. Carrier 1: 8345
Carrier 2: 7800 ............. Carrier 2: 7575
Carrier 3: 11800 ............. Carrier 3: 11915
Carrier 4: 11800 ............. Carrier 4: 7705

7500 in 6th is 150+ with my 3.15's , As I'm staying N/A I will not need to leg 6th out that high.

Yeah, I was just curious if that +10% settings raises the limit to 7480rpm in 6th gear on the 10AT S650 (nor that isn't enough.. it's the 6800 that is a PITA! :D ).

General update... Having talked to a few peeps over the past week, it appears that the HPTuners Beta tuning product is good, it works, but it's not fully developed. Drive_55_Not mentioned, and it's true, apparently updated maps and tables will keep dripping in releases for a while. MAF Tuning is still peculiar, and Speed Density isn't quite setup either apparently. I've only wrestled with MAF so far, and it's not quite right, but it *is* tunable; I'm dialed in now myself. You can also raise RPM limit, and remap the throttle, so if you're stock and buying a tune, and feel some 'oomph' on the butt dyno, chances are it's an optimized MAF with a slice of Power Enrichment going a little leaner, and a remapped throttle. For me, those have turned an already great car into a fucking monster. Purely FYI. Still looking for other tuners rolling their own.
