Sport mode has resulted in the engine rpm staying up like it is ready to go, causing me nervousness when I am passing the police because the engine sounds like it is ready to race or engaged in racing.
Quite mode or normal?

Ok. 1) normal mode sometimes lags, especially when just hitting the road. 2). Sport and track r much more responsive. In sport, if ur revving high and see a cop, remove pressure on the gas, and the trans will quickly shift. Stay in sport mode, and get used to it before giving up. I only drive in normal with a hangover.

Also, I’ve noticed when ur driving mello and decide to get-into-it, it takes the car a minute or two to realize fun driver is back. I’ve noticed improvements in acceleration and braking after she realizes I’m ready to play! Accelerate and brake HARD a couple times and she’ll wake up.

Thats what it's supposed to do. Try taking your foot off the gas a little when you pass a cop.

Sport mode is the third highest exhaust setting, too. LOL

Yeah, I know, but even when I take my foot off the gas, the rpm stays up as the car seems to think I am about to brake, enter a turn, and will need the lower gear and higher rpm as soon as I hit the apex and roll onto the throttle. Indeed, hitting the brake results in downshifting and all of that noise - sounds like I am on a racetrack. I like it, but, I am not so sure about the local police liking it . . .

You can adjust the exhaust mode independently of the drive mode.

As far as the high RPMs, it's based on how much gas you're giving it. A lot of people switch to sport mode and keep mashing the pedal like its still in normal mode, which results in more agressive revs. It also learns your driving style and will adjust the shifts accordly after awhile. You can also manually upshift using the Paddles if it's hanging on a gear too long.

So you'd rather take your car to the dealer and contemplate selling rather than just changing drives modes?

Some MINOR throttle lag in normal mode is to be expected in certian driving conditions unless you mash it. However, I have not experienced anything significant like you describe. Also, I have the non-PP brembos and my brakes bite hard.
Because I’ve experienced this chief complaint only in Normal so far doesn’t mean it won’t happen in Sport or other modes, I’ve just haven’t experienced that yet. I suspect with different engine/trans programming in sport, it’ll be much less likely to happen. I don’t want a car with an unusable mode, with a Normal mode that might literally break the car at the most inopportune moment.
Am I going to sell it? Probably not. Does this major flaw inflate the degree of other perceived issues in a car of this price point and history? Hell yeah bro.
Will any action be taken by Ford if issues such as this throttle delay don’t get more attention? Nope. With evolution of a product over its lifecycle, if it gets more attention it will get more priority. My goal is to get Ford’s attention and to improve this car since it has so much potential.

Sounds like you haven’t gotten used to the driving dynamics of your car. I doubt there’s anything wrong with ur car. It took me a few months trying all the driving modes and combinations through custom setting to feel confident with the technology. You need to understand the car and find an enjoyable way to drive within ur comfort zone. In the end u may find that ur better off in another eco boost, which is fine. The only way to gain clarity is by spending time on back roads bonding with ur machine.

That's a pretty pessimistic approach, and it makes me wonder if you're looking for flaws.

Break the car? You've really lost me here.

He has 22k on the car. I think he should be used to it by now. Which begs the question...was this always an issue? Why wait this long to go to the dealer?

Actually no, I haven’t. Even though I don’t think that quirk is necessarily a learned trait as much as something within the vehicle’s code, I still probably should try a reset.
FWIW. My wifes car with DSG was an absolute dog when new. Weird shift points, holding gears way too long after kickdown, jerky engagement, etc. Dealer did a reset and it was transformed. Shifting perfectly, smooth as silk.
It's not a Mustang, but it's worth trying.

It’s simply analytical.

Breaking the car is a reference to the core computer issue, which was more thoroughly detailed in a previous thread. Sometimes with the non-responsive throttle, the a10 trans will then have a violent clutch engagement and the rpms will either rev half way through the tach or rebound and nearly stall the car.
