Listen up - most of you folks have been pretty decent but some have been super A$$es.

First and foremost, with the amount of cars I have purchased over my adult life let me make something perfectly CLEAR - I absolutely know about vehicle depreciation and do not and never have thought - that buying and selling cars is a smart way to make money as a private citizen (NOT OWNING A CAR LOT). I have been scalded many, many times with trade in or private sale depreciation.

With that said: This post was ABOUT the amount of that depreciation not that there was depreciation - so please for those few - LIGHTEN THE F UP ...

I bought a new Porsche 911 in 2021. Sold it to a PORSCHE Dealer 6 months ago for 9K more than I paid for it. Bought a new Challenger Scat Pack 392 in 2016 for 37,500 sold it 8 years later for $34K. Both were garage queens. 911 had only 7K in options and the Scat Pack had zero options. 3800 miles on the 911 and 14,500 on the Challenger.
