Lol, nice, I need to pay attention to the dates on these threads. I was wondering about the picture in you profile.

Did you get paid the $7k for diminished value from the other driver’s insurance? They generally don’t pay it unless you ask and then they lowball you at first on the DV appraisal. If you are willing to fight with them you can get a good payout. In my case they gave me a low diminished value calculation and sent me a check which said on the back by signing it I was accepting that as full payment for DV. I refused to cash it until they gave me a reasonable offer. Georgia has one of the best diminished value laws on the books, or it did in 2020, so I’m sure success varies by state. Even in Georgia the insurance companies don’t tell you about diminished value; you have to specifically request it. My experience with the DV claim was with the top rated insurer for customer satisfaction, so if they will give a hard time with it, I imagine all the other insurers are just as bad or worse.

Almost the same thing happened to me in my 65 F100. Took 8 months to get it fixed, but was definitely repairable. I think you'll be good and not be a total loss. Before and after of my collision.

He did a fantastic job. Small body shop out of Canton.
I need to add this to the list. Because good service is good service and a if they do a great job. That is hard to pass up on, regardless or the location.

I‘d love to know the name of the body shop.

I‘m just a sneeze up the road in Jasper.

Lost 7k in trade value. My dealer got the leverage the minute it happened. I wasn’t upside down in my trade when I started the process and it was my biggest bargaining tool. As soon as it happened I lost ever but of ability to haggle the final price with.
Ugh! Sad to hear that. I am glad that you are okay and you are liking the new mustang so far. Sometimes life happens. You lost $7k in value (still terrible) but I can only imagine how much more money the other driver will pay in insurance premiums over their lifetime.

Gets worse. (For them) she was a 20 year old college student and her parents only put liability on her car. So her car was a total loss most likely and had to go buy a new car.

Auto Restore Atlanta. Shop owner is Mike and he does the bulk of the work. You got a classic you're restoring or just need a good body shop " just in case"?

Both.

From time to time our household has an “oopsie” plus I have a ’67 Impala SS that might need a little touching up.

Not to mention I need some panel gap work on one of my ‘23 Machs and I’m happy to pay a pro to keep it away from the dealer.

Good body shops are hard to come by, especially when you need one.

Thanks for the tip!
