Hey all!
I’ve been heavily considering ordering a 2025 Dark Horse with the handling package but this would be my first time buying/ordering a new car from a dealership. What’s the state of the market looking like for Dark Horse production this year? I was looking back at some older forum posts from last year and I saw a lot of people saying it took over a year from order to delivery (and some people never even got their build at all). Is the situation any different now in 2025?

True statement above as I have been waiting since feb. I think a good reason is the size of my dealer so take where you buy into account.

Buy a non-hp, 24 if possible and modify to better than HP for way cheaper

Well I was lucky I went to order a Oxford white Dark Horse premium with 700a HP, AP, Recaros and a 6spd. However they would not build it with the HP option. So I went to leave. Then the sales manager reminded the salesman they had a canceled order coming in that was the exact spec I wanted but was black. so I bought it and waited a week for it to get to the dealer. I still curse trying to keep it clean but I love it. The funny part is 18 years earlier I went to the same dealer looking for a white 2006 GT and you will never guess I went home with a black one that I still have today with about 60,000 miles on it. If I can live long enough one day I might get that white Mustang LOL.

There seem to be plenty in stock on the East coast, so you might want to consider looking at existing inventory.

They seem to sit on lots. I seem many places doing MSRP, a couple were a few grand under.

I believe you're to late to order a 25 and I've heard they're not building a 26 dark horse.

Ex-sales person here and wife is current sales person.

If you order from dealership, you typically going to pay the asking price. Go to Ford website and build the mustang that you want. You could also use that to find something nearby or in transit to a dealership. If you don’t find what you looking for, just print the mustang you built take it to a dealer and tell them that this is what you want. Price should be firm.

If you do find something already on a showroom floor, you get room to negotiate.

I bought a 24 with HP for a better deal than most of the 24s without, and it impressed the hell out of me on the track. Now you make me wonder how much better the car would have done for way cheaper? What modifications would you have made that would have improved things over the factory HP?

Black one on the showroom floor at Harbin Ford in Scottsboro, AL.

They will deal with you, IF you know how to negotiate. They aren't THAT far away from you.

My finder's fee: only 15%........

I was just saying find a 24 because the MSRP is $5000 less for same thing.
As far as making HP better, I think Steeda can do that fairly easy for less than what a HP upgrade costs.

Have any really good drivers with consistent lap times tried Steeda stuff and compared to the original handling package Dark Horse?

When I went to buy mine, I ordered it in September of '23 and then by May of '24 I cancelled my order. None of the handling packs they ordered ever got built. I wasn't alone either, the other 6 people that ordered cancelled theirs as well. Something about the handling pack was impossible to get. Luckily the day after I cancelled my order, I found the exact spec heading to Texas and got it.

I didn't have to pay mark up, but I didn't get what I would call a deal either. Love it though and even paying sticker, I don't regret anything.
Now, as for the price of the '25s, I don't think I would go for a handling pack with how much more they are. I would look for a really low mileage '24.
