Do Mustang owners wave at each other in the US?

I'm not a follower or conformist. 🖕

Did not do this with my S550 or S197, but it is routine with my S650 (or a downshift/rev) and seems to be that way with most S650 owners I've come across so far.

Typically from other Mustang Owners, it’s the Motor Rev!! Makes me think that they want to run it but I’ve come to realize that it’s different from the “other revs” (Nopars, GM’s, Imports etc) I get!! 😆😆😆.

Other than that, it’s the High Beam flash, Wave or thumbs up for acknowledgement!! That’s a cool thing!!

It's an acknowledgment that you both have the same car and interest.

A phenomenon I have noticed lately is that while in my Mustang every other Mustang driver I see waves at me as they pass. This is my fourth Mustang and I don’t ever remember this happening any time in the past.
Is this new?

It’s normal to wave when on my Honda Goldwing but in the Mustang!!!
I wave or give a "thumbs up" when it's a nice Mustang, not for beaters. As was said before, if it's a beater, it's just a car. If it's restored, modded or just plain clean, then it's a Mustang and I acknowledge our common obsession.

Not were I live but I have not seen another Dark Horse in the wild. Plus it seems no one even know what a DH is. People think it's a Shelby then I tell them it's a DH and they have never heard of it.

I’ve been waving at other riders (motorcycle) for years. It’s totally normal.

The friendly mustang acknowledgement is definitely a more recent thing but nothing wrong with it. I don’t know why drivers didn’t do it long ago, to be honest. I mean, when you go to the track, everyone is usually super chill and friendly. Everyone is there to have fun. No different on the street, really.

I haven’t had any wave, but one time there was an S550 that was at a stop sign and when I passed them they revved at me so I wasn’t sure if that was the thing mustang owners do or what 😂 I’ll probably do it back at them if I ever see them again lol

Interesting. "The Wave" has been a part of the Corvette culture for years.

The "Save the Wave" slogan was not officially adopted by Chevrolet or used in any of its marketing campaigns for the Corvette. It instead originated from the grassroots level and was propagated among Corvette enthusiasts. It was first coined by the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) in the late 1960s, and the tradition has thrived among the Corvette community ever since. ~ My Vette.com
Agree, always waved from my Vette. I have only had the mustang for 2 weeks, and haven’t had anyone wave to me.

For me some of the Shelbys and an occasional S650 will acknowledge. My daily is a 2019 STI and we always acknowledge each other. Even older models. Even on a 4 lane highway with a median we will wave big or flash high beams.
