Has anyone seen the gear ratios for the new version of the MT82? The last version the 2018 to 2023 were super long compared to the last generation. I was hoping the new version would be more like the old gen. I know they try and keep the MPG up for the EPA.

Not too bad in my opinion, but if your worried you can always change the differential gears to make it accelerate faster.

I had this question a while back so I did a little crunching with a spread sheet. My current car is a 96 mustang so I wanted to compare the difference between the two. I found that the difference between the rear end matched the difference in tires. Unfortunately I really wanted a lower ration for the fuel economy but it isn't available. I have a manual DH on order so that's what the table is examining. By the way, the table gives the speed at 2,000 RPM.

Just wanted to add, going with a set of 4.09 gears alleviates almost all the issues as far as gearing when it comes to the MT82D4. I have a set of 4.09s on my 2020 Mustang GT 6spd and it was a mod I wish I did when I first got the car and didn't wait 2 years to do it. The only gear which is still too tall after the 4.09 install is 4th. However, 1-3 is a huge improvement.

Really that good to know. What is your RPM doing 70 to 75 mph

Has anyone found out if there are any improvements in this Getrag transmission and what those are?

Found another thread on this. Seems most of the kinks were worked out. D4 doesn't seem to have the broken fork issues so much (maybe only driver error now?) or high rev shift issues. Maybe rev matching will help some folks as well. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, I had Rev matching on my Mach1 and its pretty sweet along with "no lift shift"
