Overall a very positive review. Somewhat disappointed they didn't better any of the performance metrics of the outgoing S550. Strictly speaking acceleration numbers. How is a 2024 Mustang GT over 100lbs heavier than the PP2 they weighed?

Ten speed will be substantially quicker than the 6 Manual.

Looks like the new car results do not include rollout, but the previous car does, if I'm reading it correctly.

Both tests show 0-60 times after 1-foot rollout. It's just in the old test results rollout is its own line item listed before the 0-60 time, instead of the big note they have now.

EDIT: For those curious, C/D used to estimate 1-foot rollout instead of actually measuring it, so results before Dec. 2019 could be off by about 0.1s, if they didn't go back and update them.

They're also comparing it on different tires and sizes. 305 cup 2's vs 275 Pirelli crap. Wouldn't read to much into it until you get like for like tests.

Here is the test of the 2018 manual car. Still not any better. Same size tires although the 2018 was with the Mich PS4S and the Pirellis for the 2024. The MPH is actually 1 mph better than the 2024 car. What's interesting is the 0-150mph is actually .5 second quicker than the 2024.

Not a valid comparison

S550 PP2 uses Cup 2s, a streetable track tire
295F/305R

S650 PP uses PZ4s, max performance summers
255F/275R

It’s probably accurate but has everything to do with the tires

Car is heavy, off the line you shouldn’t expect any gains, especially the torque figure not getting better. Now from a roll S650 should be faster with additional top end hp. We need to see auto vs auto as well, i wonder if the gear ratios are the same.

You missed the 2018 test that I posted as well. That is on the same size tire, granted they were MIch PS4S, but still when I look at the mph its a wash even though there is supposedly a 26hp difference, yet the 2018 is right there. In fact some metrics even quicker.

A tenth here, a tenth there. Pointless, meaningless. Here’s what matters.

A rear-drive, three-pedal, four-seat, V-8 pony car that's new and big of heart, attainable, at home in commute or canyon, and more than the sum of its parts.

We should all be grateful that we have this car, imperfections and all.

The 2018 1/4mile trap speed is 115 vs. 114, 0-150mph is .5 seconds quicker than the 2024.

Agreed...as I said overall a very positive review.
