Besides safety tech and a minimum 8" touchscreen/infotainment, at the moment I can't think of anything that isn't technically considered a luxury/option at this time. It probably doesn't help that I just woke up a short while ago, even after considering making this thread since last night.

What I'd like to see
360-degree cameras and/or dashcam
Active Exhaust (if the traditional Mustang eventually goes full EV, this could become "Synthesized Engine Soundtrack" for those who'd prefer not to drive in complete silence)
Spare tire AND spray tire repair kit
Enhanced Security Package
Selectable drive modes (maybe add an Eco mode? 😝)

What would be nice to have, but can't see coming as standard
Ambient color
Nice surround sound system
Ala carte exterior/interior/trim colors (within reason)
Active suspension on non-performance-focused Mustangs (would they stick with calling it MagneRide?)
Dual or tri-zone A/C
Drive modes/exhaust modes selectable from the steering wheel
Heated/Ventilated seats, even on cloth seats

"Old School" equipment I'd keep standard
Side mirrors with integrated blind spot mirror
Manual control seats (I like my electric seats, but are they essential for a standard Mustang?)
Analog gauges
All-Season tires

I may add more to this list later if this thread picks up steam. We'll see.

(Kind of random thought, if the Mustang got suicide doors like older trucks got before four full-sized doors became the standard, would it technically be no longer classified as a coupe/sports car?)
A free supercharger.

More side bolstering on the standard seats.
Magneride
Active Exhaust
Heads up display
Too expensive.
Make it optional (I would opt for these but others might not).

However, the Tremec might come as standard as well as SYNC 4 or 5 by then. I just hope that there are newer options like a HUD or a 360 camera.

Its hard to say standard. There needs to be a super stripped cheap mustang out there still.

I'd still like to see some more tech available
  • HUD
  • 360 camera or at least a front camera for parking. My wife's car has one and it is incredibly useful for parking in tight urban lots.
  • Wireless carplay
  • Latest version of copilot 360 that supports blue cruise
  • Massaging seats
  • AWD
  • Liftback
  • Matrix headlights
  • A premium interior pack that got rid of more of the hard plastics.

HD Radio - Now only available with B&O option. Many other manufacturers include it standard.
Wireless Apple Carplay is an awesome feature.
A better place to hold your phone. I was SOO disappointed that the pads on either side of the console were just that - I'd hoped they were pockets to hold a phone. That little tray in front of the shifter is really inadequate for much more than a small altoids tin.
Hood lift supports instead of a prop rod.
Some sort of handle or "grab" inside trunk lid to close.

Standard across all Mustangs:
  • ICE with at least 8 cylinders making at least 600 hp.
  • Manual transmission (I like the MT-82, but they need to fix the gearing of whatever transmission they offer by going back to pre-2018 gears). Tremec could be an upcharge for people that want it, but the current Tremec has poor gears for street driving.
  • Weight less than 3400 lbs.
  • At least 2 seats.
  • Great brakes (current GT brakes are good enough IMO, especially if the weight comes down to closer to the level of a sporty car).
  • AC
  • Radio - no screen needed, but a radio would be good.
  • Electric windows
  • Keep the IRS. I like that.

Everything else can be optional extras or not offered.

Heated seats- my 04 focus had cloth heated seats. It’s 17 years later, make it standard in the mustang already.

Head up display- I love it in every car I have driven with it, a lot less looking away from the road ahead.

Apple Carplay / Android Auto- the cheapest cars are all coming with it as standard these days, no excuse any more.

I had a 79 thunderbird that when you opened the door, the seat backs would automatically release. I still to this day cuss when I have a hand/arm full of stuff and have to set it down to release the seat backs. It was so much easier to to take your elbow and flip the seat back forward. If I remember right, it was about a $50 option back then, worth every penny.

PDR/Dash Cam and rear parking sensors. That should have started with the 18 refresh. For manual owners the Tremec should become standard...ditch the MT-82.

I swear you guy all want the Mustang to be MORE expensive. I think it already costs too much. Are you saying you want Ford to add these features but not charge for them?

Who says that 🤓

However we pay 72600USD(with the current exchange rate)for the base Mach 1 we get here in Sweden so with that said the price is quite steep as is :p

Agreed. This is what the thread title should have been….
