I have had my 2025 Mustang GT 6-speed for about 9 months and I have never had an indication that it has received a software update. Auto updating is turned on. I checked the Ford website with my car's VIN and the only message that I get is that it has been more than 90 days since there was an update. The car's display reports that I have Sync 4 Version 24277_PRODUCT, Rev: 1423. Is this normal and, if not, how do I get the latest updates?

I was communicating about this with @rugedraw yesterday. My GT was built in March 2025, picked up in April 2025, updates are turned on, and I’ve seen nothing to indicate any update. My Sync 4 version and revision are the same as yours. Rugedraw confirmed that my car is communicating fine with no issues, but just no updates sent. If I don’t see anything I will ask my dealer about this when I get my next service in May or so. Everything in my car seems to be working as expected, so not concerned at this point.

It's not like your phone... there are not updates on a regular basis. Updates are rolled out at some mysterious schedule known only to Ford. I wouldn't worry about it, be happy your car doesn't need any updates!

Seriously....no updates is exactly what you want. Ideally you would simply never even have a design that relied on them at all. I work in an industry where a single bug update can cost 10's of millions; I actually suppress the updates in all the vehicles I have by just disconnecting the cellular connection. In consumer stuff, you never know what kind of garbage they add or change in the system without telling you.

The real trick...is whether they are honest about the ones that truly matter.

best thing to ever happen to you. There's a reason cars ran off firmware and were only rarely updated...OTA means bugs and lots of broken things. I keep mine turned off. I would only turn it on if there were new gauges being pushed (there aren't).

no updates means there are no screw ups in the software they have to fix OTA
I'd really love for my instrument display to stop periodically flickering and all my settings randomly resetting. The settings defaulting isn't from updates resetting things and I don't care who disagrees since it still does it after disconnecting my telematics control module. Another fan favorite is when the infotainment display rapidly flashes from Android Auto to the home screen and spams me with messages "This feature is not available right now". 100% only happens when I start moving from a stop. 10/10 programming, glad Ford was more concerned with spinny car model on the My Mustang screen and wow cool movie to distract the hell out of me on the most important display in the car when I change drive modes rather than keeping it simple with stable code.

I only know it happens when my gauge colors revert back to default. Only happened twice since July on a ‘25

Same/similar boat for me as well, except in my case the 2024 I just picked up is refusing to perform an update check (spinning wheel of updates just keeps on spinnin'). The app isn't allowing me to set an auto update check. I attempt to set it, it thinks for a while and then greys back to being disabled. Going to a dealership this coming week for them to check.

That is a different issue. To fix the spinning wheel, disconnect the negative cable from your 12v battery for 20 minutes. Check again once you reconnect it.
