Ok, an update.
So it looks as if the issue has to do with profiles. I made one and saved/associated it with one key when I got my car home. After trolling througha whole bunch of posts I came across a thread that mentioned profiles as being an issue with seemingly related symptoms. So I went...
I went as far setting up gauge list the same way for ever single mode - bloody thing still went back to default.
So I gather gauge selections should indeed be sticky and not reset to a default view after a restart?
Can someone chime in on persistence of aux gauge selections (trip 1, trip 2, my mustang, temp/mix/pressure, etc.) in the dash across power cycles?
In my car I keep trying to have Trip 1 & Trip 2 to be available/scrollable without going into settings on (almost) every start. Car keeps dropping...
They'll deprecate gen5 modems and that will be that, if history is any indication. I suppose fall back to wifi could also be used but typically it's limited to certain lifespan, not perpetual.
Yeah, the car lottery 😅
It's mostly about relative bang for the buck I guess... The front sensor/camera is just such a simple thing that it's surprising that it's not in there. For the money there was no reason not to have it, IMHO. I'll take that over silly mode transition animations. Is the...
I don't have direct M2 or DH experience but I did have a 135is and m235i, also had a 2005GT about 20 years ago, now I have a 2024 GT. Various cars in between, mostly imports.
I have to say that if you're looking for a best handling, special vehicle used as fun weekend "oh this is neat" car -...
A little late to the party but BMW is vastly superior in all but two aspects: sound and comfort. I have owned a 2013 135is and a 2016 m235i 6-speed convertibles, owned a 2005 Mustang GT and (now) it's 2024 sibling.
Car feel (Mustang is a boat as a daily driver), ergonomics, fit and finish...
Yeah, I was looking for a manual convertible in both flavors. Unfortunately no 6 speed BMW 'verts of recent vintage showed up in my search this time around so Mustang GT was the next best thing (NBT... LOL).
I just sold my 2016 m235i and I gotta say that the BMW feels faster and much more controllable than my 24 GT, unless you rev the living daylight out of the Mustang. Instant torque in the down low RPM range of the m235i is very noticeable, esp in the daily driving. So is the MPG delta between the...
Ok, coming from a 2016 m235i vert to a '24 GT vert:
* Windshield sprayer nozzles are worse than pathetic, borderline dangerous
* Lack of front proximity sensors is beyond puzzling
* Rear seats don't fold
* Infotainment/cluster that randomly greys out options 🤣
* Rear seat ingress/egress, just...
I see that and I'll raise you a different color quarter panels all around! 😉
And before you ask, yes, I did see that not too long ago on Storrow drive on an otherwise normal car.
Same/similar boat for me as well, except in my case the 2024 I just picked up is refusing to perform an update check (spinning wheel of updates just keeps on spinnin'). The app isn't allowing me to set an auto update check. I attempt to set it, it thinks for a while and then greys back to being...
