True. That's what I thought about my SRT4 also.
To me, compared to a GT or my Challenger Scat Pack, they are still toy cars.

Golf R is like $45k, not quite cheap

can run 11's with basic mods though
The 26 model is pushing 60k in Canada now.thats ridiculous for a golf

Golf R would leave a standard Mustang GT for dead on a windy road

Not a toy, just a different type of car
Lets compare at a track. At Lime Rock, maybe. At Road Atlanta, COTA or Road America, not a chance. And back to the street, take one on a 500 mile road trip. Which one would you and a friend rather be in?
Comfy cruiser or toy car?

As I said before, driving on the roads (especially here in the UK) the Golf R is long gone.

Mustang GT is a GT, Golf is a hot hatch - different cars for different jobs, although the Golf R is a very good distance car as well.

Yep - My wife has a 2020 GTI, 6 speed manual. Daily driver. Good acceleration, handles well. Its gotten bigger and heavier, but still feels small next to the s650. Nice interior and lots of luggage space - can't beat the efficient hatchback for that. Friend of mine move from Chicago to Columbus in his GTI ...
