Good to see one torn down, hope they provide an update incorporating Mustang specific Gen 4 changes.

Why bother changing so much on the f 150 vs the mustang, and variable displacement is always a frigging disaster. That oil pump is dumb af. The 24's are also speed density. Which is incidentally older than maf. I trust Livernois as far as i can throw my car.

MAF sensors are why I stopped using oiled filters (like K&N) as contamination from the oil can cause a lean condition. I've been reluctant to use them (oiled filters) ever since.

I have never seen that happen. People are either putting a cup of oil on the filter or blaming random issues on it.

Over oiling will do that and not letting the filter absorb and settle. I use the s&b blue oiled filters. I rinse them let them dry then re oil per instructions. If I need to use the car I put the factory paper cones in temp or I have a second set of s&b filters ready to drop in. I keep the bag and box for the spares usually takes a day for me to clean a filter from was dry re oil and settle the oil. Bit excessive sure, but never had an issue doing it this way.

It was a problem back when I had my 1998 Taurus SHO. There were numerous articles and even a TSB posted about it on v8sho.com.

I'm aware of the issue I have just never experienced it. Have ran a K&N or similar filter on almost every vehicle I have had for the last 25 years.
