Something is wrong with their Dark Horse or that driver needs to go. Edmunds totally misrepresenting IMO.
I think you need to educate yourself on the 911.

This particular 911 runs low 11's quarter mile from what I read. A properly supercharged Dark Horse should get through the 1/4 mile in under 11 seconds. I understand getting smoked off the line however top end the DH should catch it. I also read this particular DH from Edmunds was having issues and broke down, so I don't know.

It's not going to run 10's on a dusty track on regular tires

the dark horse is only going 4mph faster in the 1/4 mile so it can't make up the difference in the launch

you'd have to go to a drag strip, put a real tire on the dark horse and then it should win. The Porsche will be tough to beat

also remember this is a whipple stage 1 car, on 91 octane gas. In the real world a supercharged Mustang will be much faster, more mods, different tune, blah blah

So - is this any different than building the faster "old fashioned" drag car ?? Make the right mods, reduce weight where you can, make sure it can hook up - then add as much power as she will hold off the line???? The formula is well known? No big mystery? BTW - if I would be inclided to go down this road - I would go Mustang all the way!

Wouldn't that be a fantasy test? Tires nobody uses as a daily and even more pathetic: a prepped surface...

Noone buys a 911 Carrera S as a track car. It's a solid daily. Its probably one of the most common 'special' cars I see in Germany. More often than the regular 911 and obviously more often than a turbo or GT car. Go to any big city in Germany and you will see plenty of white collar workers with 911 Carreras...

It has nothing in common with a DarkHorse so the test itself is kind of redundant. Maybe both are considered GT cars but the DH is the supposed 'track' version and the Carrera is certainly not... It's a comparison between a $180000 car and a $60000 car which the more expensive car wins... What a surprise.

Yea, nobody would ever take a supercharged mustang to a drag strip.

I did not realize that there would be a lot of white collar workers in Germany who could afford a 911 Carrerra S turbo.

It ran 11.2 in this video. Did you watch it? Dusty track with no preparation, akin to trying to nail a launch on the street from a standing start. The 911 Carerra S does this very well. The Mustang does not. You cannot compare anybody's drag strip time with slicks on a prepared launch pad that makes your shoes stick to it if you try to walk across it to trying to get this 4000 pound behemoth rolling with 800 horsepower on an unprepared surface.

There is a huge difference between a 911 Carrera and a 911 turbo... There aren't that many turbos in Germany either but many Carrera variants. These days they all have turbos but only the top dog 911 is allowed to bear that name.

I would also say that there are essentially only three 911 variants: Turbo, GT and Carrera. Turbo is the fastest version of each generation whereas the GT cars are purely track focussed. Carrera is basically the regular street version. Carrera , S, GTS and also the equivalent Targa versions are simply slightly upgraded basic 911s. Think of it as BMW 320, 330 and 340 or so.
