If there was a widespread issue of brake failure on BMWs, the NHTSA or /other/ relevant agency in a large market would be looking into it.

Go with the Ford Performance Whipple and have a Certified tech install it and you will keep somewhat of a warranty on the drivetrain. Keep in mind when you do this - if you do, that warranty IS NOT TRANSFERRABLE therefore if you should sell (before the 3 year 36000) the car won't have the drivetrain warranty transferred to the new owner it dies with the sale ...

I know happened to us, and you can choose not to believe it, go forth and live life comfortable in your belief there isn't a widespread problem. The abs module failed and in the fault condition, which the dash dutifully reports as a brake problem, there is no pressure to the brake system at all. It can either remain in the fault or fail over to normal braking(?) anyway, when the latter happens and you're fully applying the brakes, suddenly, you have full brakes, and you're locked up immediately. And it reset with an ignition cycle. We put in at Bergamo or just north of it and the local dealer knew what it was.

Just read through. There really several other threads discussing it, as well, in addition to resources outside of the forum.

The basic answer is that there is a limited drivetrain warranty from Whipple, and some question whether it will fix problems it causes or merely defray the cost. There is a dollar limit. There are also all sorts of exclusions. I think it is also a one time warranty, that is, a lifetime payout, and then they do not pay anything the second time.

With all of that having been said, I have never seen anybody reporting here a warranty claim, so . . . maybe it is a pretty safe boost level and tune.

Also, I think that the calibrations are on hold right now, so if you actually purchased one today, you could not have it installed this weekend. They are predicting a release at some point in October. Nobody knows what the issue is here on the forum, but there is all sorts of speculation.

Dark Horse with a Whipple. Each to his own. I'd rather have the snake if I wanted a 7th gen track race car. Only manual trans for me. Won't do paddles i.e. GT 500 which is probably what Ford will do for 26 (hope not).

US designed car interiors are like children's toys compared to almost any other manufacturer on the planet, except for cars that are destined for the US Market.

The interiors of every toyota I have owned in the last 20 years, and I have owned 5, are far superior to any Ford I have owned in the same time period and that number is also 5

If you watch any of the Top Gear re-runs when it was Clarkson, May and Hammond, any time they had an American car in a comparison to a Euro car, the universal complaint was the cheap plastic and textures in the US cars.
