Heyo! I'm using Solostorm along with an OBDLink MX+ and Racebox Mini to log my autocross runs and trying to get access to better telemetry. I picked up THIS CAN tap harness kit which I need to connect to HS2 CANH and HS2 CANL.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram handy or have already done something similar for their own datalogging and can confirm what I need is behind the passenger kick panel?
  • HS2 CAN High (HS2 CANH): White wire with a Blue stripe.
  • HS2 CAN Low (HS2 CANL): White wire with a Green stripe.

Thanks!

HS2 CAN + and - start here in the GWM:

From there, those wires branch out to the OSCM, SCCM and RCM.

The diagram above says those wires pin at connectors C245 and C210. Attached are the locations of both connectors and the pin-out diagrams for each one.

OBD gives RPM, throttle, and some temps, so you can see it's not really useful for comparing driver input. On the S550, CAN gave access to:
  • Engine RPM
  • Throttle Position (Throttle Plate Position)
  • Steering Wheel Angle
  • Brake Pressure (Brake Pedal Position)
  • Transmission Gear Number
  • Engine Coolant Temperature
  • Transmission Oil Temperature
  • Fuel Tank Level
  • Intake Air Temperature (Intake Air Temperature)
  • Wheel Speed – Front Left (ABS Wheel Speed)
  • Wheel Speed – Front Right (ABS Wheel Speed)
  • Wheel Speed – Rear Left (ABS Wheel Speed)
  • Wheel Speed – Rear Right (ABS Wheel Speed)
Hopefully it's the same on the S650. Will give a much better picture of what I'm doing input wise and where when comparing my runs.

My only concern would be that the 2024+ Mustangs have TRON encryption in certain modules including the PCM and ABS. Not sure how this would affect the telemetry it can pull. I don't think it will have an effect on being able to read the data, but if it doesn't work, this is the reason why.
