I recently had Steeda Sport Progressives installed on my 24’ GT PP with magneride. Front suspension seems super clunky at low speeds over slightly imperfect roads. I’d expect a slightly harsher ride but the noise that goes along with it is surprising. Had local performance shop do the install and alignment. But wondering if they could have gotten something wrong. Attached a clip of the noise to see if others have similar results.

I had the same springs installed on mine, and Steeda did the install almost a year ago. No noise at all, and the ride is no harsher than stock.

Something is loose. That noise isn't normal.

Agreed; check wtih Steeda on this. Those guys stand behind their stuff.

EXAMPLE: 3 or so years ago I had the DUAL RATES installed on my S550 and one of them was actually a little shorter than required. It would hit the top of the tower when I would turn to the left at low speed (or stopped) and would clunk.

Steeda.CA called Steeda USA and they figured out what was going on. Steeda USA sent up a replacement and the problem was solved with no additional cost to me.

Honestly, this is one of the advantages of dealing with Steeda and is one of the reasons I am looking at installing SPORT PROGRESSIVES on my Dark Horse. Even if shit goes sideways they aren't walking away with that "we got yo money" attitude that so many places seem to have.

Thank you all for the feedback. Glad to hear this isn’t normal as I love the look and improvement to handling but was worried I’d need to go back to stock if I wanted to get rid of this noise. I’ve reached out to Steeda for their input.

If you haven't already done so; you should take your Mustang back to the shop that did the install and alignment for an inspection, assessment, and possible repair. And, by all means as the others have suggested; contact Steeda Customer Support.

Something wasn't torqued properly. That noise typically happens when something wasn't tightened enough and or NOT at ride height, possibly a link or a bushing.

Thanks everyone. I’m dropping it back at the shop tomorrow. The feedback here is helpful as I now have some evidence in the event they try and tell me it’s perfectly normal.

Worst comes to worst though, do Ford dealerships touch suspension that is not stock? I realize this would not be warranty work but if I needed to pay to get it 100% right it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I’d confirm they didn’t install the springs upside down. Even good shops occasionally make mistakes. I’m not certain about whether the dealer would touch it, but I think they may. Some dealerships do aftermarket suspension modifications (or outsource it), but mainly on trucks. I’d still take it to the original shop and give them a chance to check it out.

COme back and let us know the results once you have mitigated the issue.

will do for sure! Crossing fingers the shop that did the install can resolve (or at least determine root cause) tomorrow.

There's 4 nuts each side under the hood that are easily accessible that are just as likely as the bolts on the spindle to contribute to that clunking sound. I'm not saying to give the shop a pass but you can check if they're loose pretty quickly.

Just got the car back, problem solved. They said it was the tie rod nut. I guess they had to take my car to an alignment shop they had never used before due to a scheduling issue and they failed to tighten things up after completing. Anyway, I don’t really care who’s at fault, noise is gone and I can now fully enjoy the suspension upgrade. Thanks again to all that provided support on this,
