And this one is 20", 11 in front and 11.5 in back, 305 and 315 tires

Looks like the taller wheels gained this Dark Horse a little more ground clearance for that front spoiler.

I went with the forged SVE DHP1 I have been pleased with the quality of the Wheels. I went with the 10.5 X 19 front and 11 x 19 rear in graphite.

Good to see another Georgian - and almost exactly the same car.

so whos gonna make a forged wheel company recommendation for me. I looked at Enkei and Konig (the only other reputable wheel makers i know) but i couldnt find anything wider than like a 9 or 9.5. Booo.
Project 6gr has been popular with the S550 crowd. They make forged and flow formed. I know someone who has their 7 spoke wheels and loves them.

Signature Wheels are at the high end in quality and price.

Apex wheels are also made in china fwiw

Yipes. :whew:

So is everything rebranded Chinese stuff?

FWIW, like I said, Apex has a good reputation among folks who track their cars with sticky tires. I do not know anything more except company propaganda videos and such.

"SVE" is just rebranded Chinese stuff

everything from wheels to suspension components

I'd guess there are only a handful of companies that make wheels out there. Especially flow formed ones. And I'd also bet most of the non-name-brand wheels all come from the same 1-2 places. I know that's how it was for SN95 and Fox wheels.

Just look at how many of the aftermarket wheels out there look 90% the same.

Ford uses cast wheels for the Dark Horse handling package. I wonder whether they are also made in China.

All forged or even flow formed SVE wheels have probably got to be better than stock, right?

In addition, l doubt lighter wheels affect hp to any degree, but their effect is like a lightened flywheel. Less rotational inertia = quicker response to input.
ditto. This has been my personal experience when swapping street and track tire/wheel setups. No dyno confirmation, just my butt.

Don't forget to figure in the weight of the tires when estimating any benefit.

If you're not racing, then it's really just a matter of budget and willingness to spend money for better quality.

Apex used to have sales starting around this time of the year, I don't know if they still do, but it may be worth getting on one of their mailing lists.

Typically, track tires are lighter. For instance, if you are using the max performance summer tire, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in the Dark Horse rear size, 315/30ZR19, it weighs 29 pounds. If you swap to Hoosier R7 track tire, 295/30ZR19 (which has an 11 inch wide tread), it weighs 4 pounds less, at 25 pounds per tire.

All season tires add another 5-6 pounds, typically, over the summer tire (see, e.g., Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 ZP in 325/30ZR19, at 35 pounds)

Apex wheels are well-known in the 2004-2006 GTO community, particularly those that like to auto-x or drive it on a road course. VMR has a ton of flow formed wheel options and have been popular for years on the GTOs. We have the problem of not enough room for much-wider front and rear tires/wheels w/out suspension changes and body mods (mostly rolling the fender lips). Stock was 245/45/17 and 235/40/18 tires on 8" wide wheels, with 275s fitting in the back w/out mods with enough offset.

Apex has some photos of 19x11 square set ups, so it must be possible.
Of all things - Ive been in contact with apex recently. their customer support is incredible. very responsive and receptive to a noobs line of questions. I expressed an interest in their EC-7RS as i like the look of them compared to their other two forged wheels and they recommended i try a 19x11 square set up but that it would take 25mm wheel spacers and some sort of extended wheel stud kit

I dont know how people feel about spacers and stud kits......i feel like at that point youre really deviating from the factory dialed in suspension which might be detrimental to your suspensions health and perhaps even unsafe. I donno

Also - for anyone who might be interested. they stated that in 2026 theyre going to open up for custom wheel orders.

I think Apex get wheels made to their specifications by asian companies , they have changed suppliers a few times over the years . I am not knocking Apex quality at all . Many Mustang OEM wheels are made in china also , it's ironic how many bash the crap out of " chinese made " when the factory wheels on their pride and joy are from there . A large percentage of US wheel suppliers are just that , they dont make shit .
where did I say SVE was bad?

different companies require they make different spec parts

lots of cheap shit wheels out there that are heavy, bend easily, etc

For example, an OEM wheel is going to be tough to bend compared to say some generic ass knockoff wheel
