Sure. Other than the 4 doors and transmission it's a direct comparison. Hence why you bought a mustang.
yes, actually, lmao.

i didn’t mind the four doors.
The lexus makes 470 horse, has quad exhausts, and is also a very comfortable car to drive long distance.

like it or not, they occupy a surprisingly similar corner of the market. They’re both old school RWD NA V8 performance cars. This is simply a fact. Hell, the Lexus even weighs less than the Mustang.
I shit you not if the IS500 came in a stick I’d have one sitting in my driveway right now.
I like old school stuff, and I almost always prefer stickshifts. Its just my preference. I would happily do burnouts in that IS500.

This isn’t an attack on the mustang by any means.

Dude, its a direct - money - for - money - similar spec car. It is a perfectly good comparison.

Both have a V8

Both are RWD

Both have a Torsen diff

Both are a similar price

Both have 'sport suspension'

It is a direct comparison. Lexus doesn't just make beige cruisers for old farts to slowly wither away in
well....

From a Car & Driver article:
2024 Lexus RC F
MSRP
$68,320–$101,195
5.0-liter V-8 engine is rated for 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque.
  • LOWS
  • Tiny back seat and trunk, weight hampers handling and acceleration, dated infotainment despite recent touchscreen upgrade.
  • VERDICT
  • The RC F can’t cut and run with the best of the segment, but with a naturally aspirated V-8 and a comfortable interior it makes for a fine luxury cruiser in the grand-tourer mold.
So there's that....

2025 IS500 $8000 less than the RCF. Is similarly equipped to the mustang with tech, and has a higher quality interior, and have a very similar drivetrain. Both have been cited as having an overly soft and wallow-y ride, look at any road test. Throttle house, C&D, Straight pipes, etc etc. They all claim that the Mustang without Magneride is very soft, and even with Magne is still not some highly strung cornering machine. Short of the Dark Horse, it easily gets walked by cars like a Civic Type R on a track.

Again, it is 100% comparable to the Lexus.

my original point is that for the price, I can see why people would want more tech. I do not personally want, nor do I care for more tech. I have stated that several times. If anything, I'd prefer less. But if you cannot see the other side of the argument, it is absolutely not worth continuing the discussion.

If you cannot separate your own personal wants and opinions from an argument, then I genuinely cannot help that. I am fully aware that most people here did not buy a mustang for its tech, but rather the engine/drivetrain package, obviously. I did too. The Camaro is gone, the Charger is unrecognizable, the CT5-V is double the price, so there isn't much in the way of choices in this segment.

However, - money - for - money - I can see why some people would want more tech. That has been literally my entire point.

It's not worth going in circles, so I'm simply leaving it at that.

Backing in the garage where I live means driving backwards for 100 meters.
Just out of curiosity, and maybe I'm missing something here, but....
Wouldn't this then also mean that you have to back 100m to exit the garage? 🤔

But, back on topic.
I was fully aware of what I was either gaining or loosing in terms of both tech and performance when I chose to trade my Lincoln for a DH.
I also knew that I was going to take it in the shorts on my trade and that the Mustang was going cost a lot more money.
This was the choice I made. No one held a gun to my head. And I couldn't be happier.

So again, curiosity I suppose...
But to the OP, if you weren't happy with the amount of tech or features you were getting for the price you paid when you purchased the car, why did you buy it?
And why then complain about it?
This is the choice you made.

That is 100% correct. But most of the time you can find an empty spot to back out and turn.

Ok I may get banned for this ….
But this thread is a direct result of putting the screens in the car ….

it was like huge fireworks to all the “car tech” people welcoming them to come buy a Mustang.

This thread is a direct result of this

Want proof? People are comparing a Mustang to a freaking Lexus. Whats

I’m just happy my car has power windows

worried about hitting the splitter? Back into spots

So my advice to anyone complaining about tech…. The next time you start to think about complaining….

1. windows down
2. Stereo off
3. Sport mode
4. Make the tachometer go past 7k

if that doesn’t make you stop thinking about tech then you bought the wrong car …

As one of those guys who would've welcomed 360 cameras on the Mustang, I've realized over the years how amazing the outward visibility is in this car (S550 in my case, but also applies to S650) compared to other similar vehicles.

Anyone whos been in a camaro can attest to how shit the rear visibility is. Side windows are so narrow I couldn’t even stick my head through them, lmao

It might be Japanese "Grabber Blue", but it's just a vanilla sedan.
I wouldn't pat it if it was in my garage. :inlove:
