S650 Mustang V8 to Get Ford Performance Calibrations (Tune)

For durability, excellent wet grip, and quick road driving Michelin PS5's are hard to beat. Not great for track days though.
The German ADAC tested a bunch of UHP tyres and the Mich 5's were way ahead for tread life

The issue with the PS5 is that the thread really last much longer than the "S" (PS4S), but the grip goes to the bin at a shorter mileage than PS4S, so you will end with a tire that will last but with no usable grip for "fast driving", if you're interested to walk around it'll be OK.
PS4S instead maintain that "mid-hi" grip for its whole life and then suddenly goes down.. and then it's time to change it.
What's surprising me is that the stock tires on the S650 here in EU (PZ4), acceptable grip for fast driving (less than PS4S tho...), but maintaining it so far (I'm at 13.000 Km right now).
I will probably switch back to PS4S when it'll be time, of I may try the new PZ5 if they'll be build for our measures (they are not so far).

I only have 1000 miles on them but Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 have been excellent

I can’t wait anymore for this tune. I really need better throttle response, especially when releasing clutch into first,
Seems like I need half throttle to get moving fast off the line.
So I ordered Soler Performance Throttle Controller and will have it by Thursday.
First time ever trying a device like this but plenty of reviews with good input.

I’ve also tried mixing e70 with my 93 to get close to e30 over the last couple fillups, not really much difference in butt dyno to be worth it.

No, I didn’t think that was really a thing for the Tremec?
I really have no issue with the clutch pedal release , it’s how much throttle I have to give to get a more powerful launch, it’s unnatural feeling.
Something a tune would probably fix

Yeah, I had a spring on my 15gt that I played with and it worked great but I don't have engagement issues with this clutch, it's pretty damn good, just like the shifter... best I've ever driven!

I didn't get past half worn on my PS5's, so I'll take your word for that. But the PZ4's on my Cupra Ateca had about 3mm left at 19000 kms, I doubt they would have got to 25000.
Also, wet grip is a big issue here in the "land of the long white rain cloud". The Pirellis were OK, but nowhere near as good as the MIch's.

Continental Extreem Sport Contact 2s are super underrated. I think they are equal to the PS4s.

I have a Banks Pedal Monster, it makes a huge difference.

No way will you get 30hp out of this tune with how agressive the S650 already is, unless you cherry pick some random part of the graph

A couple aftermarket tuners have been posting how there's little to be had on 93 with how much Ford put into the stock tune...

Yeah, I’ve been noticing the same.
And when some post with no stock dyno comparison, I find this to be pointless.
Dyno is a tool!
Really curious to see what Ford Performance says its gains are.
I’ll be waiting for a flex tune so I can get the benefits of E.

I know what you mean... I thought I forgot how to drive manual for a minute lol. I'll give it about 1/4 throttle, let up on clutch, get moving with reasonable alacrity (goan fast), and then it will stutter/flutter like I'm a clutch noob. Drives me crazy.

Like you, I have also noticed I have to really dump on the throttle and keep dumping to move through first without stuttering, then second comes on just fine. Also like you I have a Soler throttle mapper sitting on my desk, but it arrived the day tuning supposedly arrived, so I haven't opened it thinking I might just return it...

You’ve got to install it. Absolutely transforms this car.
It feels faster in every way, from clutching out of first to 6th gear on highway.
I’m actually very very content now and can wait patiently while all these tuners sort out the chaos of the new tuning
