He didn't even bother to change any bodylines or the hood, he just changed the frontend. The base design language of the frontend might be similiar, but overall this looks totally off.

I think this rendering is okay despite how far away from reality it is (rear corners of the headlights look too far into the side of the car in my opinion), but it is good to know that the S650 won't be as mild a refresh as this latest take from SketchMonkey's was.

…the edginess may be somewhat correct but that’s where the similarities probably end. Maybe some “New Edge” design cues from the fenders back with a more ‘68-‘69 inspired front fascia. I have a feeling people will move to say “it’s an Aston Martin” like they use to say “it’s a Fusion” back in 2014.

It e mustang does not need this. Ford only opens up a small portion of it for actual cooling. The rest is blocked off.

would love to see for following function in the mustang again. Not some weird attempt at looking like the old car from the 60s.
As it is, the render is extremely well done, but the design Is a backward step from the current car. Hope this is not actual target.

This is where the Mustang is heading although, this particular CAD example may represent a slightly shorter wheelbase, say around 105 inches. The “Mule” that we have been “spying” is simply an S550 with inserts under the camouflage and has absolutely NOTHING to do with exterior design. Anything you see in camo might be testing drivetrain but there is absolutely nothing done to the panels or fascia.

The GT and “ST” (Ecoboost placeholder) will still host the standard 107 inch wheelbase. However, most of the S650’s exterior can fit comfortably within the S550’s body with maybe an exception of some fender flare and longer front overhang. The S650 will look like an S550 with really low body fat.

I believe the eMustang will continue to be available on a modified Mach-E platform at 115 inches. That said, don’t discount the possibility that Ford will look at the 107 inch wheelbase for eMustang’s as well as any short version of the S650 as well.

The S650 will make the S550 feel like an S197 when the 550’s came out. Perhaps the gap between the 550 and 650 won’t be as wide as the S197 and S550 but the looks alone will make the pre-2024 Mustang’s look very dated.

The GTE is probably an electric concept on a 107 inch wheelbase. This study was conducted in 2018-‘19 as far as I know but I expect Kemal’s original vision will continue to be realized. The Mach-E came soon after.

I know that Ford intends on pushing some of the Mustang models into “Sports Car” territory and that means the exterior design is only headed one way. I do believe that this design was decided on before the 2015 GT350 was unveiled and the S650 was co-developed with the S550.
