S650 Boss 429 Concept

Hi everyone.

Over two years ago I started learning sketching from a scratch and over time came up with this idea for a new s650 model/ facelift.

Back in 2024 I presented this to Ford's design people but they were not interested in collaboration.

I redesigned front and rear end. What do you guys think ?

Nice video, great progress and interesting designs but it doesn't work for me at all. None of the designs speak Mustang but rather 'Matchbox competition' or bat-mobil...

It's a design, I know but I don't understand why so many get the proportions absolutely wrong. The only somewhat proportional picture is the one with the shark in it and that one looks like something I can already have with a S550 and a bodykit.
In addition, the other design languages don't add up, they look more like a parts bin where 'every cool feature' is thrown into the mix. It doesn't work for me and I'm pretty sure it doesn't for any designer because there is no clear language in the design.

Good luck on future designs and maybe do some research on design language.

The idea is that the body stays as it is in current s650 model. My changes are at front and rear end. The proportions are not perfect but my point was to outline the front and rear end.

I'm old enough to remember all of the sketches which supposedly were the new Mustang. Neither the original Ford stylist designs, nor those dreamt by external stylists, ever came close to what was produced. Yes, styling cues sometimes were incorporated into final production, but those were ones dreamt as well.

Cars are the penultimate example of creative design, without the practicality of actually making the dream come true. We're all diminished.
