Those of you who've had a S550 and now have a S650. Is the fit/finish better in the new model? Quality of materials?

I have been in a few S650 premiums now, I do find the interior materials superior to a premium S550. For the panels about the same

Coming from a S550 premium, it certainly feels and appears like it in my experience.

I had a base 16 GT PP and have a Base S650 but 301A. I definitely like the vinyl to the seats adds a little better look. I think it’s better. Not by a wide margin but then again that’s an 8 yr spread. I like it regardless. Never sat in a Premium as i knew I didn’t want that. I like lower trim level’s honestly.

the cloth seats are a visual improvement for sure. The bolstering seems to have gotten softer though and thus less effective. But maybe that was my imagination. I'd say the interier doesn't scream cheap, hard plastic quite so loudly.

Yes my good friend with a 2020 GT500 and 17 350R has been jaw dropped every time he gets in the car.

there is no alcantara though. He just keeps going on about how old his interior looks and feels.
Really REALLY is just in disbelief how amazing the new screen dash looks and works.
And my car is a base 300a.

From what I've seen on the dealer lots:
Quality of materials - Yes, some are better over previous gen but depends on trim level.
Build quality - Hell no. Have you seen those panel gaps? More like panel cracks. Its getting worse.

I found it to be hot or miss. I am waiting until Job 2 and more parts from Ford Performance.

I would say the interior is much better. Exterior is about the same. No issue with my panel gaps either.

I wouldn't buy an S550 because of the poor quality interior. It was just too bad to spend the money on over the last 3 years or so. It looked cheap and felt cheap. I do not think the S650 is the best interior but it is much nicer. The screens are amazing. I like them a lot more than I had expected.

The only issue I have had with mine is the hood bumps were not set correctly. Driver side was too low and had a gap and the hood had some flutter. About 5 mins of total work adjusting the hood bumpers had both issues fixed. Annoying since the two bumpers where not set to the same length. That really bothered me. At least pay attention enough to thread them in the same. No other panel issues on the entire car.

As a prior owner of a 2020 GT500 loaded I can attest my S650 Premium interior is much nicer and of higher perceived quality. Kind of blows my mind that a 62k car has no seat memory lol.
