I for sure fail to see that especially when you’re currently getting 93 octane tune spark on what is essentially an e70 tune. That’s leaving a shitload on the table for what? Because you don’t want to spend 1 minute flashing another tune that is on the phone you carry in your pocket 24/7? You act like this is rocket science and you’re writing code for hours to get the car to run. I hear your sentiment, but the rationale is a bit skewed. I’m trying to not push into Ray or his tuning, no but. I just want to reiterate that the entire reason to run an e85 tune is to take advantage of all that extra spark potential. And being a flex tune, they usually don’t reach those levels of potential because of the short comings of learned AFR. You’re seeing it here in real time. Glad you’re happy but when you want more, you’re a static E tune away from some more substantial power increase we 3+ more degrees of spark.
I’ll let Ray reply to timing left on table but I can reply to how long it takes to write a tune, never been 1 minute for me. More like 15 to 40 minutes and a feeling like I hope my car won’t brick:

With the RTD4 when writing from one custom tune to another it’s less than a minute now with the S650. If you do a full write of you are changing the OS, it’s about 3 minutes 30 seconds.

Yeah, never experienced that and I’ve had 3 different tunes between my Mach 1 and the DH.

The fast write is for the new fords and using the RTD4 with TDN or MPVI3 with laptop. As I said the first write of your custom tune over the stock tune should be a tad over 3 minutes. Any subsequent write between another same OS custom tune is like 30 seconds now.

Took me like 20 minutes or more with RTD4 and TDN app.
Again, I’m not a tuner so I don’t know.
You also told me don’t bother tuning my DH because it’s the same car as a GT and there’s no point. So far, I don’t believe much of what you have said to me over many conversations because I find the opposite be true in my own real life experiences.

lol clearly. But in all fairness you can’t be reasoned with at any level. You seem to know better no matter what anyone tells you. You were dead set on this flex tune and dammit you got it lol. Forget the 200+ s650s I’ve tuned, you know better.

Well congrats man. You win. I’m done with this thread and any other thread you post. Don’t ask me another question. You got your tuner now, enjoy.

Thanks, I considered everything you have said over last few months and made an educated decision.
10 years and 3 mustangs with 5 different tuners Wish you the best as well ZX

Can you tell a significant acceleration difference as compared to running it on 93?
I would say consistent and noticeable just like it was in my Mach 1. Significant is subjective .
I believe between the tune and the throttle controller it is a significantly different car to drive and I could never go back to stock.

So far so good with the new tune!
Ray (DRP owner) is so great to work with. Super fast to respond and responses are not super vague like I’ve had with other tuners in past.
Had my RTD4 in couple days , sent him factory file last night and had the tune this morning in time for me to load it at lunch.
I had 1/4 tank of ~e20-25 in the tank. First test drive I noticed the A/F was at 12.5-13 when it normally is at ~14 on stock tune even with e30 in tank so the flex is working for sure.
Car definitely pulled harder, noticeable. So I can’t wait to try higher Ethenol soon.
One thing I noticed and talked with him about is that throttle response seemed similar to stock. He says he can change that in the tune if I want.
I already had a Soler performance throttle controller which I turned back up to remedy this.
I may just keep that in place and not have him mess with tune.
I like having full control on the fly with that device.
I data logged once and had response in an hour.
I’m very happy and highly recommend DRP Motorsports.
The Flex is super convenient and Ray has it figured out.
I will update once filled up on E70, maybe tonight.
I have the throttle controller as well i prefer it to tuning the throttle lets me run it on the fly according to mood, need and weight of foot.

Once we get PCMTec engaged here to do a real flex set up with a real sensor, then I will be happy to offer them.
Is this a realistic probability within the near future?

the entire reason to run an e85 tune is to take advantage of all that extra spark potential. . . . when you want more, you’re a static E tune away from some more substantial power increase with 3+ more degrees of spark. Even at e70 you should be more than good at 31-32*. And with E you can lean her out a bit as well.
Do you have some real dyno numbers for comparison for the difference on the same fuel (E85, E70, whatever) of adding that two or three degrees of spark advance?

No more speed limiter , if that matters
Is it difficult to get rid of the speed limiter?

I ask because I keep seeing these dyno tuning videos where they keep switching into lower gears to avoid the speed limiter.

Like this one at Palm Beach Dyno (right at time stamp 7:15):

If the speed limiter can be turned off, why not just turn it off?

That tuning video was posted Jul 17, 2025 , HP Tuners didn't release the speed limiter patch till the end of July so any tune you get now should have the speed limiter removed.

Whew! That makes me feel better. The one in that video was cutting out at 155 mph (and I saw a YouTuber saying his cut out at an indicated 158 on the dash). I can see that affecting a track day on some of the tracks with longer straights once the horsepower is bumped up. For example, Michelin Road Atlanta has a full throttle area that looks like about 4000 feet, from turn 7 until you have to hit the brakes to make turn 10A. While it is slightly uphill from 7 to 9, it is steeply downhill after that, which means lots of speed and then testing your brakes to make that sharp, almost 90 degree left turn at 10A. This track map is misleading, too. The track is very wide from 8 to 9 and then downhill to 10A, where is suddenly narrows in addition to making a sharp left hand turn. I am not a good enough driver to look at my speedometer while turning left on 10A, as I was working on braking later and later and making the turn and not striking slower cars in front of me, but I would guess most cars are in the 40s or 50s mph through 10A (coming from triple digit speeds downhill even in low horsepower cars).

Entire track is 2.540 miles (4.088 km), for reference.

@krisk I need the opinion of a better, more experienced driver than me. What sort of speed are you hitting from 7 to 10A, and what sort of speed do you drop down to for making the left turn through 10A? I know you might have posted a video that shows mph on it, but I can't locate it right now.

Fastest I’ve hit is 148 when I was there in November and it was pretty cold, so the car was making more power. Normally I hit 143-144 pretty consistently before braking down to around 45 for 10a. Here’s a video from July with JTI and the data from a session in November. It was brutally hot at the July event.
