These are race cars not street cars. I was only pointing out the power difference between the 2 fuel types.

Nobody runs pump e85 in expensive race engines because the amt of ethenol varies too much.... Hence the 110 leaded race fuel (at the race track).
1st, Quit calling anything with ethanol in it E85 and then say it has less than 85% ethanol ... That's not E85 that's E-Something else.

2nd, Only Old Skool carb guys run leaded fuel, The Cool Modern Fuel Injected guyz run ethanol blends.

Most people buy their pump ethanol from the same location and know what % it runs, my local Sheetz station Flex Fuel Ethanol label sez it can contain between 51-83% Ethanol.

It runs E83 in the summer and E75 in the winter, plenty stout enough to make 850rwhp in my Hellcat.

Currently it's $2.49 per gallon and makes just as much power as those high $$ unleaded fuels.

Odd you say it’s reliable when you also say it is a range

Whatz so hard to understand. It isn't labled E85, it's labled flex fuel with a range 51% - 83%,

And it has been E75 - E83 for the nearly 15yrs I've been using it, So I'd call that Reliable.

Why you running an e85 tune when it’s 75 - 83 gasohol?

90% of the cooling and spark tolerance are achieved at lower percentages (why E30 became so popular)

Still would love to see a tuner benchmark the car stock tune E30, vs their E85 custom tune.

Why you running an e85 tune when it’s 75 - 83 It isn't labled E85?

Why are you posting in this thread when Ethanol clearly isn't for you.

If you are in California, you will see gas stations that have "E85". Yellow handle pump. That's what the gas stations call it.

Go blame them.

And... my gauge measures the ethanol content real-time. Yes it's not 85% ethanol. I get it. But that is what's being sold which is called "E85".

I'm far from "old school". Porsche cup cars, and custom GT1 POC race car (650RWHP LS7 on a mustang dyno N/A).

Been dong this for 20+ years.

Race cars (with expensive engines) won't screw around with E whatever.... It's not consistent. And therefore can't be tuned to maximize power reliably on a track (and nobody trusts it anyway with $60k-$80k engines).

Say what you want, but in the racing world... at the track. It's 110 leaded unless you bring 100 gallons + of your own fuel for the 3 day weekend.

Questions spur responses

Haven’t seen much on stock e85 tunes in a while. Are they good to go now?

Is there a list anywhere of who is the best tune to buy from?

Noob questions :)

The E85 tunes are awesome. My car loves right at 33* of timing. Makes tons of airflow all the way to 7850 now, and I shift it at 8000 to drop back into peak tq. The 93 tunes are about 28* total advance in comparison and even in those situations, I'd always say you should blend to e20 at least on a 93 tune to make sure you dont see any KR. FYI Im over 100 s650's commercially tuned now.

Any idea what your customers are picking up in the quarter mile in e.t. and mph?

Not really yet. Haven’t heard of anyone going to the track yet. It’s too hot most of the country to run any PBs. God forbid I go and run s550 times in 100f and 3500 da and then my tunes are turds. I’m going soon but for more trans data and then in December I’ll run for a PB here in FL. But we are getting street kills like crazy.
