Who's seen the new Ferrari Dodici Cilindre manuale?
An 8 speed DCT, with a 6 speed gated shift and "clutch pedal" for manual shifting.
It only uses the first 6 gears for manual shifting as 7th and 8th are overdrive gears.
They've even set it up so that you can stall it if you are fumble footed.
If it actually feels like a manual, this is the end to manual or auto threads.
Are you listening Mr Ford?
didn’t koenigsegg release one on CC850 few years ago a nine speed that can switch to manual mode that weighs 90kg.

I turned it off immediately and haven't turned it back on. I regularly rev match using my right foot, but, as you say, that's sometimes a bit obnoxious, and on those occasions I can change down gently and quietly.

The pedal arrangement (on RHD at least) isn't great for proper heel and toe downshifts, which is a shame, so if I was really on it (on a track, for example), I'd probably turn it back on to protect the transmission.

Indeed the pedal arrangement sucked on the RHD and its slightly canted to the right. I got some pedals from UltimatePedals but haven't install them yet.

Yep. Not sure how well an 8 speed manual would work. It would have to have effective interlocks to prevent misshifting on a gate that close together.
PS. Speaking of rev matching, we went to look at an Abarth 595 with the selespeed/duologic robotised manual. That is an interesting system as it requires some throttle finesse in auto mode to do smooth shifts, much like a manual. In manual mode you just use the paddles for near instant shifts with rev matching.
To my surprise Tracey really liked it for that involvement. She's a special girl😍

I turned off the rev matching first thing when I got the car. I learned on stick shifts in the early 70s. IMO rev matching is horse pucky! 🐎

I love it! I like the sound & 90% of the cars around me have no idea what rev match is due to no one drives a manual transmission car any more

I learned to shift on a Super T-10 with a mechanically actuated L-88 clutch and the muscle memory never fades. As much as I prefer my own rev matching and occasional double-clutching, Ford's auto rev matching is quicker than my footwork so I leave it enabled. I can still do my own rev-matching and double clutching with it enabled but if I'm "off" it's a reliable back-up.

I've been daily driving a stick for about a decade now. Drive by wire throttle is too inconsistent for me. I want to go from 6th to 4th, I give gas pedal a sharp push about 50% of its travel, revs increase by 500 🖕🖕🖕. I want to go from 4th to 3rd, I just need like 500rpm increase, a 1-2in jab should do it. Revs increase by 1500🖕🖕🖕. First thing I did when I was handed the keys to my Dark Horse was enable auto rev match and it's been enabled since.
