This is an odd one!

The last time we saw a hood like that was on an S197 Cobra Jet prototype........but that was fully decked out with drag slicks. This one, being based on a GT350 is unusual to say the least.

Of course, they could be testing a new intake for an upcoming S650 model.....only time will tell.

That's the kind of hood line you'll get if Ford ends up throwing a 7.3 or 6.8 in the mustang ;)

Beat me to it, obviously a test mule for the future 7.3 S650.

I am really trying to tamper down my expectations, but a GT350 test mule has my heart pounding.

Another thought comes to mind - they could also be testing the efficacy of the GT350's hood extractor to determine if sufficient for a new powertrain - 5.0 (with revised intake) or otherwise.

I would love for the Boss 302 and 429 to come back and usher out the ICE Mustangs.
I agree with the first part of that - more 429 though. We've already had a Boss 302 and Ford has squeezed the 5.0 lemon dry. Time for more cubic inches to match up with the big size of our current Mustangs.

I'll try to forget you said the second thing.

My thoughts are:

S650 Future GT350 Mule (Older GT350, due to the Drilled Rotors.)
Could be Trying Out New Hoods that will give Clearance for CobraJet Intake on New GT350 Aluminator52XS.
GT500 Hood Louvers for New GT350 for Extra Cooling.
Just Pre-Viewing S650 with Lower GT350 Type Hood and Fenders, but With Added Clearance for Blowers, Intakes or Cooling Vents.
BOSS or Shaker Hood.
Front Intake Scoops.

Testing Predator Engine with GT350 Intake Manifold.

Testing Hybrid Engine for Future GT350
