I've heard that touching the positive and negative cables together (once disconnected from the battery of course) also helps clear the memory and fully discharge the system.

I have some annoying issues with my new Mustang.
I picked up the Mustang from the dealer, brand new, two days ago.
I covered some miles and discovered quickly that the cruise control buttons, lane assist and drive modes did not work.
I read here and there that reset of Sync 4 should help. It didn't.

I visited the dealer today, but it was too busy to check it, so I was scheduled for this coming Wednesday. When I got home, I checked the fuse box, pressed all the fuses down, and some clicked as if they were loose.
I checked the left buttons on the steering wheel, and they all worked. I was delighted, but my happiness did not last long.
This evening my son asked to take him for a short ride, and I quickly discovered the cruise control, driving modes, and lane assist did not work back again. The whole left cluster on the steering wheel is dead again.

My 2008 GT is more reliable.
Sorry you're having issues. It sounds like a minor fix and I'm sure it will be quickly resolved at the dealer. Unfortunately you can't just walk in without an appointment for service these days. Be patient and try not to get down on the car.

As for the testing every system before taking possession...that seems pretty unrealistic with all the tech on new cars. It took us weeks to figure out how to work everything in my wife's Hyundai, and that was after a brief tutorial at the dealer. When you buy a new car, it's pretty much assumed everything will work.

Let us know what happens.

Make sure that battery is at a FULL charge. This car hates a weak battery. I had all sorts of glitches with mine until I fully charged up the battery. Now I keep it on a tender, year round. Had zero problems since.
the battery is 91% so I guess it is not the Issue.

The glitch seems to be fixed, which makes me happy and grateful.

The box (Terminal Connector Strip), or whatever it is properly called, was disconnected in the steering wheel. I got a new soft, and all works as it should. It took them more than 3 hours to fix it.

Time to enjoy the car.

Thank you all for your contribution and words of support.
