Self employed, I work I make money, I don't work I don't make money, that simple.
Yeah hard to say how this will play out, he is certainly going for more than they will get. I am more concerned with the 32 hour work week agenda. Unions have set the benchmark for other labor sectors in the past, and as much as many would like a 32 hour work week at 40 hour pay, it would be a disaster for the economy, result = more inflation and more automation.
Oh well, wrong forum and not my battle to engage in. Just root for a speedy agreement and get back to business.

Ok! Don’t quote me but I think on the news tonight they were talking about Ford possibly having to close down I think they said eight of the plants like I said I may be mistaken, but I’m almost sure that’s what we heard. That guy over the UAW is just being a complete idiot asking for way too much. None of us get 40% raises. We’re lucky if we get two or 3% a year.
What you may have heard about was Unifor (Canadian version of the UAW) negotiating their contract. A recent article I saw said Unifor had a summit with the UAW earlier in the year, have very similar demands, and they are not happy with Ford's financial offers leading into yesterday. They are targeting Ford and have indicated they will do a full walk out of all their plants including the one that makes the V8.

The Unifor contract with Ford expired last night, but latest news I saw this morning is Ford put forward a 'substantive offer' and Unifor put off strike action for 24 hours.

I went into the dealership where I ordered mine on Saturday, September 16th and they told me mine is scheduled for build on September 21. I opted for the NPP, but I'm getting a convertible. Does anyone know if this will slow down my production. The salesman checked my order and said it should be ready in November some time. But, the salesman I preordered it through told me it would take about 4 to 6 weeks and that was June 24, 2023. Do they really know for sure or are they just trying to shut us up?

Don’t know for sure, but my understanding is that the NP delays are stemming from the black roof. Having a convertible renders that a moot consideration, so you may be ok.

Thank you! I hope so, but I don't mind the wait. I just paid off my 2017 this month. So it will be nice to not have a car payment for a couple months.

Oh, good to know. Guess things are getting tighter all the way around.
Ford cannot afford to be paying these people that much, I think it’s gonna cost them a lot of money for things that are going to have to be done to these 2024s. I think they’re gonna have a lot of problems and some are already starting to have them. I wish people would wisen up and Start voting to get rid of the unions. They don’t care about the people like people think they do they ask for unrealistic things, so stupid

I haven’t had one for years. Paid $64000 cash for my 2022 Audi A5, but when I sold it with 7000 miles on it I ended up getting 49,000 for it( that was $5000 more than all the other dealers would give me) so put all but $20 grand down on this. I got the loan for three years and I’m hoping to have it paid off in two, I hate having a car payment again

Oh yes, I will use every bit of what I sell my car for on my new car. I paid $49k for my 2017 and my 2024 is right at $59k. I have 71,800 miles on my 2017 (it was my daily). I’m getting ready to get it detailed and going to put a cover over it until I sell it. It’s killing me not to drive it, but I know every mile takes away from the value. I’m driving my husband’s Honda. It is nice getting close to 40 mpg. I hate a car payment too, but paying for the mustang was never a regret of mine. Thanks for the advice. I love mustangs but don’t know all the ins and outs so appreciate this forum.

@Newface So "Exhausted Availability" Nite Pony means no new scheduling? Although it states "limited capacity" not exhausted
I also hate when they say “
  • 67P Dark Horse Handling Package wil not be scheduled until April production.
  • “ too!! That’s an iffy situation as well!

We have State Farm. We have 5 vehicles, one Being a company car. I. Noticed years ago, On the side of the bill, it said Driven over X amount of miles a year. I called them and said I’ve never driven that many miles in a year. So so much came off of my bill. I can’t remember how much it was, but every little bit helps. So always check that too especially if you don’t put many miles on it
