I would argue the exact opposite. For the cost to get Magneride, you better damn well feel a difference. Otherwise what's the point?
The added track performance.

My understanding when I was buying my GT500 was that the real "value" was in the fact you got nominal street manners (normal mode, nothing mindblowing) but ALSO got the ability to have really high track performance which you would not get, in a single setting street damper.

Where they (Ford) fell flat with the marketing/messaging/implementation perhaps, and the subsequent expectations, was not allowing the modes to mix (which you mentioned). So you could combine the softer ride with the sportier throttle response and shifts.

The added track performance.
Which leads me back to my original statement. Magnaride is great on the track, and a waste of money on the street.

Yeah I wasn't really arguing with you. Just adding nuance from what I had been told. Anecdotally, it is probably safe to assume most people get no benefit from it (assuming Ford does not change the damping rates between trims).

There is a portion of the population however (myself, for one) who likes the stiffer damping modes on the street quite a lot. I rarely use normal damping, and prefer the track setting but generally settle for sport since the throttle response is more fun.

My assumption is that the PP cars also have stiffer springs (can't find the specs online), which means the Magnaride probably does help make the ride quality better. I just couldn't tell the difference on my test drives, and I think the base GT S650s ride quality is very good. Much more so than the S550. Its hard to justify the added cost when you have to get the performance pack and then pay for Magnaride on top of that. Especially when you aren't going to track the car.

Had an s550 without MR. Changed dampers to Bilstein B6, Steeda springs(200/800) and other susp bits. Car was much more controlled and fun than stock.

My s650 has MR and in stock form its more controlled and fun than my modified s550.

Wouldnt go back. More is more.

I missed the Magnaride in my S650 last weekend... Went for a drive over the mountains, it was raining at home so we took the S550 (no MR). We also took the road less traveled... so also the road less maintained.
