I was driving home just after picking up my car and all the assist stuff was activated. This was the first car I’ve have owned with all the Nannie’s. I was fighting with the steering. I thought it was the tires tracking the roadway surface. As I was negotiating a left hand curve on the transition from 101 to the 202 freeway the car kept trying pull me into the wall at 65mph. When I got home I found out how turn that pos off. Hasn’t been on since then.

Last night I tried turning on the lane keep assist feature on my GT while driving on a mountainous section of the interstate. I usually keep it off because in the past I felt as if the lane keep system actually lowered steering resistance towards the side of the line I approach, instead of pushing away from that side. However, last night was extra; it felt as if the steering pulled towards the line and median wall. Has anyone else experienced similar problematic assistive features?
Yes, that shit is scary. Early on, with early firmware versions, there were a few times when the car started pulling me seemingly into the wall. I don't use lane keep, except when the road is straight-forward, and I'm about to get distracted. Do not use it in low disability, in the dark, et.c.

Maybe it's an automatic transmission feature... but for me, if I turn off the lane keep (not that extra complicated cruise control thing), it turns off. Again, I don't like it being on, it's pretty much dangerous. But if you are driving in a straight line, and want to reach into your glove box for something, that's when I turn it on for a few seconds at a time.

I like the lane assist future if I was still working. I had some crazy drives back home after a night shift. I'm happy that I can still tell..

These stories sound to me like a dealer visit is warranted, as my LKA doesn’t fight me and I think most of the users here probably have the same experience.
- is it perfect? No.
- is it good enough that you can leave your hands off the wheel? No.

But it’s not trying to kill me or my passengers.

I’ve used the co-pilot cruise several times, even once on a curvy back road. This did lead to one instance over an off camber hill on a curve where the co-pilot programming ran wide, and I corrected it... you know, being the DRIVER and all.

Is co-pilot perfect? No.
Is co-pilot good enough for hands free driving? No. but, it is impressive. Not impressive enough for me to trust that much. Besides, the programming won’t let you.

Also, what people may don't know, there's to distinct type of assists: one is lane keeping, the other is lane centering, and this last one is not equipped on all the Mustangs (packages).
The first one is the basic one (it'll warn or will "correct" you if you reach the lane limits), while the second one is more advanced and similar to the Ford BlueCruise: it'll follow the road, keep you in the lane center, this last one is affected by the "issue" of being too sensible to the "keep hands on wheel" (if you're on a straight road and you DON'T HAVE to move it) and it'll also steer (or help you steering) your wheel following the road path (much like an "autopilot").
So when you talk about how "efficient" (or bugged) it is, be sure to compare the same systems.

Lol.. yeah.. but fortunately, this kind of "assists" have a friction: in case of a malfunction, it can fight your input, but it couldn't overcome it. However it wouldn't be so pleasant to have your car steering into the barrier suddenly at 110mph (this is the speed until the system will remain active), but that's nothing compared to the full autonomous vehicles, for those I would be really scared! But I'm confident that the software is reliable enough.. and if you look at the other drivers out there, maybe it's better to accept a fault in a software, than a bunch of people who are constantly chatting while driving.

There's been a high amount of head on collisions. My favorite radio talk show host mentioned it's best to drive in the right hand lane, and use the left for passing. He also drives a Mustang. But as for me I'd not trust my life on some electric gadget. Maybe I should've gotten the 20 Bullitt I seen a bit back. I don't believe they had all the new fangled electrics.

Coincidentally my Bullitt had it, and it worked quite well. That's why I'm annoyed that I couldn't use it on the S650 because of the annoying "hands on wheel" bugged thing.

I'm thinking about getting Bullitt for my wife. I seen a bunch of them for sale in the DFW area. I just don't want one someone thrashed. Or a CT4. It's really strange how a Mustang has better cargo area than a Cadi. Even stranger how the Cadi weighs less. Within 50 miles of Houston you shed see all the Mustangs and D-H that are available.

I turned all of the assists off personally. Just wait until you go to pass someone quickly and the car thinks you are going to hit the car in front of you and freaks out :-).

I keep all that stuff off except for the cruise control. Braking, lane keep, etc. all off especially the braking.

With that "connected" package (I don't know how it's named), if you want to turn off the "advanced" features, it'll tell you that's gonna turn off all the connected services, including the car monitoring (GPS) and the app functions. It's a pita.

Lane assist built into a sports car is as relevant as the idiots who mandated its existence!

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just drag unneeded applications into the trash never to be seen again?
