Sales are supposedly up, you don't refresh a vehicle that is selling as is, you make every last part you can from the tooling you have already paid for.

That is why the 7G cars share so much with the 6G cars, once the tooling and R&D is amortized the rest is profit.

Those stinking 4 lug wheels used into the late 80's were the same design as 1962 Falcons

We would have known by now if there was a refresh for the 2027 MY. I would guess Ford is keeping 2026 Mustang production going a little longer because of the late timing of the 2026 Dark Horse SC. They wouldn't want to be building 2026 DH SCs at the same time as 2027 models of other trim levels.

I'm almost certain the 27's will be announced a little later on and yes, there's gonna be a refresh, look at history with the s550s

Nah. We'd have seen mules driving around by now. The s550 was an outlier.

SN95.1, 5 years - 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998
SN95.2, 6 years - 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004
S197.1, 5 years - 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
S197.2, 5 years - 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
S550.1, 3 years - 2015, 2016, 2017
S550.2, 6 years - 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023
S650.1, 5 years would be 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028
The refreshed S650 is due for model year 2029 or 2030.

But personally, I'm betting on 2030 due to the current and expected regulatory environment instability and design/production lead times. Depending on the politics, the 2030 car (released Q3 2029) might have to have a hybrid booster or it might have factory cat deletes....

I have seen something like this with other manufactures. They are planning a light refresh, it is not ready in time, so they just make the exact same car one more year. Tends to be a short production run and they do the refresh for the next model year. I have seen Honda and Jeep both do this. I am guessing 27, will be a carbon copy of 26, then the light refresh starts in 28.

One look at automotive spy news in recent months and a little bit of math would answer this question.

A certain camouflaged, production-ready presenting convertible has shown up a number of times and yet there's been no announcement. That's enough to tell me that specific car is probably a 2027MY, and with the lack of accompanying variants, I would also infer that there won't be a refresh next year.

I'd expect 2028 as well. With that car looking like it'll be the sister of another one that is releasing imminently, and looking at some other variants that followed a similar track (Raptor R released 2023, refresh 2024), I don't think it's unlikely we'll start to see some changes by the end of the winter season.

I do wonder what happened to Ford Authority's photographer though. Usually if there was an indication of changes on the way, it would have been seen by now.
