It is. It's a V8 with a manual option, when neither Dodge nor Chevrolet offer an option.
Definitely agree, as long as its a v8 im happy, people be complaining bout a hp number that they prob wont even feel the difference

I don’t need a bigger horse, I need a faster horse. 420hp is plenty if they can trim some fat out of it, but I havent heard it will be any lighter

side note: apparently remote rev is only on automatic transmissions
the build information list has these lines for that 2024 VIN

News Flash - manuals still don’t start themselves.

That gross weight must be with, like, passengers and allowed cargo or something, its not the weight of the car. My GT is ~36xx-37xx lbs, your mach 1 isn’t 1k lbs heavier than that.

I think it's gonna be pretty awesome.
I'm expecting it to be quicker than gen 3 cars.

Say 11.7s is stock, high 10s with longtubes and E85.
I can fully see these cars edging 2-3 tenths across the board vs a similar modded gen3.

Maybe they're even....underrated.
Bette wait on those headers and e85….I have read that these cars won’t be receptive to such mods

i have no clue, honestly
it's a mystery with Ford's system only they know the answer to
in any case, even if it's wrong, that information still has some value

edit: turns out, this is someone at Ford's fault, whoever set up OASIS must've messed up and put "GVW" instead of "GVWR", because the sticker in my door says my GVWR is 4660 lbs

486? Nope. Not enough. 460 wasn't enough for the 2018's either. Good thing they make FI for those that want to beat AWD EV's.

Thats porky
GVW is the maximum safe amount of weight a vehicle can carry

There’s a 1% delta between the figures

Considering that they share the same hard points and dimensions, it’s safe to say that weight change will likely be < 50lbs

Let’s cut the crap here they could have gotten 500 and 530hp people still would have complained. Heck i know people who complain the C8 Z06 won’t be a torque monster like a small block “dead serious”

In a lot of ways i agree however they would need a true brand new engine if they wanted to get another 50hp or more. Higher compression, high redline, basically you’re getting into a very different and expensive discussion. Should ford invest the money into a some high strung V8, sure they could use the 7.3 but then ford looks like an idiot because they’ve been on the over head cam bandwagon for years. I think the key here is for them to try and get 500hp out of the mustang gt long term and make it’s a performance hybrid with another 100hp added to it. But much like the flop that was the last NSX is all the complexity and weight worth the trade off

probably NOT

There is never enough hp (at least for me). If I could find an easy way I would even add more hp to my 750 hp. You can get used to everything quite easy, so, no, 486 or 750 is not enough. :like:
