Welcome to the forum and the US! If you have heated/ventilated seats, it should be a Premium. The Performance Package includes staggered 19" wheels with summer tires, drift brake, front tow hook, and a bunch of suspension upgrades.

Hey Westphal,

Thanks for the welcome :)

I guess someone just went crazy with the options then, it has the Active exhaust, the 6 piston Brembos, the 19" staggered dark horse wheels....

Might have just ticked every box lol, either way im not complaining!!

Springs, splitter, spoiler and wheels all arrive this week, cant wait :)

Hi all, I picked up my Mustang gt back in April 2025.
It's a performance package and magneride with dark matter grey paint.

I got tinted windows professionally done at my nephews shop for free.

I did the paint protection film the whole car myself because I can not afford $7,000 AUD or more for the shop . Nephew told me I could make a living doing ppf after seen my handy works.

Thanks for letting me in.

At $7000 a pop, maybe you should consider it.

Greetings all,

Picked up my '25 Dark Horse about 6 weeks ago. About to do first oil change. I'm hoping to get some decent photos once the snow around here is gone. Short term plans is ceramic coat and Steeda IRS supports (wheel hop is noticeable at mid throttle on the street). Long term I would like to do some track days at NJMP. P zeros are sketchy when it's 40 degrees. Looking forward to warm weather.

Two weeks ago I bought a brand new leftover 2024 GT/CS convertible. Anyway, it's not my first Mustang, so I thought I would post my Mustang "life story."

Hello everyone. I’m Billy, and I’m interested in buying a Mustang EcoBoost Premium Fastback sometime this year, after I relocate and retire. The more I look around out on the web, and the more I read all the knowledge and wisdom on this site, I am developing some questions. But first…

Some stuff (probably too much!) about me. My late mom was from Dearborn and worked in Henry Ford II’s “secretarial pool” as a young women in the late 40’s to the mid-50’s; her first car was a T-Bird. Henry Ford wintered in my Florida hometown, along with Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone.

I’ve been drawn to the Mustang ever since I was in grade school and my buddy’s dad had a dusty yellow ’65 three-speed, and he would pick me up on the way to school. And as a kid, I had one of those massive Aurora HO slot-car tracks with the high banks like at Daytona. My favorite car was a blue Boss Mustang.

Growing up in Florida and starting as a young teen, I was at the 12 Hours of Sebring every year for about a dozen years starting in the early 1970’s, when some private teams were running the GT40 – man, you could hear that car coming before you ever saw it! The factory backing during the Carroll Shelby years had run its course. The Capri and Mustang GT-class cars also competed. Different class than the factory Ferrari 312 and 512 and Porsche 917 and 908 entries that were the heavyweight contenders back then (as well as Daytona 24). The Alpha Romeos always seemed to break before finishing. I’ve been an IMSA fan ever since.

I’ve been day-dreaming on the Ford site, and here is what I’m zeroing in on: The Vapor Blue Metallic EcoBoost Premium Fastback, the 201A package of extra goodies, the Nite Pony Package, and the Active Valve Performance Exhaust. I am bummed there are no paddle shifters to be more engaged with the car. To get the GT outfitted as I would want it is beyond my budget. Just looking for a daily driver Mustang that’s fun.

I’m coming off owning a 2004 Infinity G35 Coupe (which I drove for 23 years, racking up a massive 50K miles [the joy of having a home office]; and before that an ’89 (Gen 2) Mazda RX7 which I drove for 15 years and 150K miles; loved that 13-B Rotary screamer. I was surprised to learn that the Mustang is both longer, wider and heavier than the G35. The G35 does have a longer wheelbase, but the Mustang edges the G35 in hp, 315 to 298.

So I’m looking forward to (hopefully) corralling a Mustang in the near future. A couple of questions (I’m sure there will be more!) --
  • From reading the forum, it seems ordering a car from the factory through a dealer, and then tracking its progress via a VIN, is a common route, if the dealer doesn’t have exactly what you want. Is that right? I’ve never ordered a car before.
  • Building the car on the Ford website, there’s an optional spare tire offered. Is that to say, the car doesn’t come standard with a spare tire? That would seem odd.
Thanks!

Your assessment is correct. I haven't special ordered a vehicle since my 1983 Mercury Cougar. Rather I've relied on the dealer to find what I want, or I've just walked in and there it was! I'm not saying you should or shouldn't, it just depends on what you want and are willing to wait for!
