Maybe I should flip the whole Dark Horse and screens argument on some of you ........

So getting rid of Shelby and other names and getting rid of Mustang dash for screens = your a boomer if you dont like it ....Ford is marketing to a new generation - everyone who remembers the name Shelby is 110 years old and cant drive anymore so its time for the Mustang to move on to a new target market

But add 2 doors and OH NO ITS RUINED

Maybe Ford is marketing to a new generation and if you think the Mustang should only have 2 doors then your a boomer? New market blah blah blah
but wait there’s more, willpower to revise something old but not enough confidence to reclaim the crown?

I didn’t say it the computer did
(Or called out by a machine?)

but otherwise, until we get spy shots (and even then) speculation is all part of the game.

As far as timeline goes, my source said next gen mustang coupe was moved up to 2028. The sedan is coming in 2029.

Did they state why? My hunch has been once the Camaro was confirmed for a return that shifted the Mustang refresh/new gen timeline a bit

Fathom? As in sunk without trace?
Literally an email I just received from Ford. I can’t Fathom why they named it a FatHom-e. As stated earlier by a younger generation, us boomers wouldn’t get it.

He says because the s650 styling was a pretty mild change over s550, Ford .management felt that if an s650 styled sedan came out, the styling and design would look dated instantly. Moving up the next gen coupe timeline means they can stick to a 2029 release for the sedan, but give it fresher styling to make it more appealing to match the updated coupe.

This whole naming thing just tells me Ford has too many pencil pushers sitting on their hands. They have a brand called Ford and 100's of trademarked names they could use to name a car or two. Ford making cars again would be pretty cool. /s

Re-using names almost never works out well
