My 24 Mustang gt premium has 2 open recalls with no fix available. The water intrusion recall was stopped because the sealant they used was ineffective. I just looked it up and the correct sealant is still not available. The NHTSA lists this as a high priority safety recall and suggests getting a loaner until fixed. The recall was issued last August. Mean while the latest recall was for the BCM software and again no fix available. When Jim Farley told the financial community his goal was to drive down the cost of recalls because Ford leads the pack by far and it is expensive. Don't even get me started on my wife's 22 Escape. At no point did I expect that Ford would lower recall costs by simply not doing them, even safety recalls.

You should be very thankful you didn't buy a GM product with a V8 engine! My neighbor waited over 6 months to get his engine replaced, only to have that one fail two month later. He's now driving a Ford F150 TT V6.

there's a 3rd recall. Just today I got the letter about the windshield wiper possibly malfunctioning in freezing weather. There's a recall with no fix until March 2027.

Interesting. I took mine in for water intrusion recall and they supposedly fixed it as its no longer listed as a recall in my Ford app and I signed off on the paperwork.

Can you explain more about the sealant issue not working? Did you already have a leak, or did they tell you the sealant wouldn't work and to wait? There is nothing in my recall saying the sealant is unavailable.

I have no idea if I have a leak, It has never been looked at. I received the recall letter last Aug.. and I put it off until I took the car out winter storage. That is when the dealer told me the sealant used in the recall was discontinued because it didn't work. They were waiting until the new part becomes available. I Googled and it turns out to be true. However I went to the NHTSA and put in my vin and it said parts were available. Yesterday the dealer told me that the part was still not available. I will call the Dealer today and inquire why the discrepancy. I will first call another dealer service dept and inquire if they have the part. The prospect of losing all exterior lighting is unsettling.

Follow up. I called a different Ford dealer this morning. They said it is a 2 step process. First they inspect the car for water intrusion and then if they find anything they order the sealant. I called my dealer back and told them what their competitor had said. The service advisor I talked to said of course they could do the inspection and he didn't know why it was not scheduled. The car is in there right for an electrical problem. He said he would add it to the RO. I am not happy with this. I have bought 5 cars from them since 2013 and all of the service on my cars have been done there. I am considering going some where else.
