Has anyone ever initiated the ford buy program?

My S650 had a check engine light come on about two weeks ago took it to the dealership took about a week to get it back, they said it was a fuse which is weird replaced the fuse car worked fine. On the night of Father’s Day I was cleaning my car out in my garage with quick detailer as I was wiping the door handle as we all know cause the doors to keep locking. Well I heard a weird beeping noise as unlocked the door with my hand, started the car and check engine light back on.

Usually they’ll fix it before they’ll buy it

You are a long, long way from a buy back. You have only had them address the issue one time and you want a buy back for a new check engine light? Give them a chance to find the problem. When and if the issue repeats over several months and attempts to fix the car fail, then you can think about initiating a buy back. Not before then.

I understand it has to be an ongoing problem, not just a one off incident. I’m just curious/preparing for what the process is like. Kinda just trying to weight my options ahead of time.

You have to look at your state lemon laws to see what needs to happen. Best thing you can do once requirements are met, is get yourself a lawyer that specializes in that. There should be no out of pocket charges for you and should be covered by the manufacturer settlement.

Started the buyback process with Ford on mine yesterday, been in the dealership multiple times for intermittent issues with sync and now one of my tail lights decides when it wants to work. Dealer has been no help and shrugs saying there is no problem.
